The
Cat Who Belonged to a Union
Sister Smudge was the name of a
cat who worked at the social museum People's Palace in Glasgow,
Scotland between 1979 and 1990, when she retired. Smudge's face
appeared on various gift shop items, and she became a local celebrity. Museum staff applied for her membership into the General, Municipal, and Boilermakers Trade Union. She was a member of the Union until her death in 2000. Apparently, Sister Smudge's ghost remains at the museum. |
