Kitty Cookies
* 1 cup whole wheat flour * 1/3 cup soy flour * 1 tsp Catnip (optional) * 1 egg yolk * 2 Tbsp wheat germ * 1/3 cup powdered milk * 1 Tbs unsulphured molasses * 2 Tbs butter or vegetable oil Mix dry ingredients together; then add molasses, egg, oil, and milk. Roll out flat onto oiled cookie sheet and cut into small cat bite-sized pieces. Bake 20 min. at 350 F. Cool on a rack and store at room temperature in an airtight container. |
Holy Mackerel Cat Treats
* 1/3 cup canned mackerel, drained and crumble * 1 cup whole grain bread crumbs * 1 egg yolk, beaten * 1 Tbs vegetable oil or bacon grease * 1/2 tsp brewer’s yeast (optional) Combine all ingredients; mix well. Drop ¼ tsp dough 1 inch apart onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 minutes at 350 F. Cool on a rack and store covered in the refrigerator. |
Cat Pucks
* 3 oz sausage or finely ground beef * 2 Tbs oatmeal * 1 egg yolk * Catnip, finely chopped Knead the ingreadients together very thoroughly and form into a flat oval. Broil under a medium heat for 5-7 minutes,turning frequently until the outside is crisp. Wait until cool,then slice into bite sized chunks and feed to your cat. |
Tuna Treats
* 1/2 cup whole wheat flour * 1/2 cup nonfat powdered milk * 1/2 can tuna or 1/2 cup chopped chicken (cooked) * 1 Tbs vegetable oil or cod liver oil * 1 egg yolk, beaten * 1/4 cup water Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease cookie sheets with cooking spray. In large bowl, mash the tuna (or chicken) into smaller pieces. Then add flour and milk. Mix well. Pour in water and oil. Mix well again. Beat egg in seperate dish until dish util egg gets a foamy texture. Add to mix. Mix well. The dough mix will be sticky, so dont worry. Shape dough into small bite-size balls, about the size of a marble. Put balls on greased cookie sheets. Flatten balls with hand. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove treats from oven wait five minutes and turn treats over so other side will cook. Bake 10 more minutes or until golden brown in color. Place treats on cookie rack to cool. Cool for at least 15 minutes. Store in air tight container and store in fridge or cool dry place. |
Cat Crackers
* 6 ounces undrained tuna * 1 cup cornmeal * 1 cup flour * 1/3 cup water Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Measure all of the ingredients into a bowl and mix thoroughly with your hands. Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into treat sized pieces. Place on a greased cookie sheet. bake for about 20 minutes or until golden.Let cool. Give to your cat and watch them gobble it up. |

* 1 handful high-quality dry cat food * 2 Tbs cooked beef, minced * 1 egg yolk * 1 tsp warm milk Place the dry cat food in a bowl and mix in the minced beef. Stir in the egg yolk and pour the warm milk over the mixture. Serve. (Yield: 2 meals) |

Liver (or Tuna) Puffs
* 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour * 1 cup all purpose flour * 1 package unflavored gelatin * 1 package dry yeast (about 2 1/2 teaspoons) * 1 cup powdered dry milk * 1/4 cup very warm water * 1/4 cup corn oil * 1 egg yolk * 1 - 6 ounce can liver (or tuna) cat food * 1/4 cup water Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix dry ingredients in large bowl. Add yeast, oil, egg, cat food and water. Mix well (dough will be very stiff). Drop 1/2 teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 25 minutes at 300 degrees. Yield 13 dozen. Store in refrigerator. |
Sardine Surprise
* 2 flat cans of sardines in oil (do not drain) * 2/3 cup cooked rice * 1 Tbs pureed liver (or canned liver cat food) * 1/4 cup chopped parsley Combine all ingredients and mix well. Shape into balls of desired size or simply spoon into cat's dish and serve. These treats may be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days, and may also be frozen. |
Kitty Bran
* 1 handful high-quality dry cat food * 1 Tbs Miller's bran (from health-food store) * 1 Tbs warm milk Place the dry cat food in a bowl. Add the Miller's bran. Pour the warm milk on top of the bran and stir. Serve. |
Tuna Balls
* 1 can drained tuna * 1/2 can finely diced turkey or chicken * 2/3 cup dry cat food * Sliced vegetables (optional) Mix all ingredients in small bowl untill well mixed. Form into small balls. Chill for about an hour. Serve. |

* 1 8 oz. can tuna (in oil) * 2 cups cornmeal * 2 cups flour * 3/4 cup water * 2/3 cup veg. oil * 1/2 teaspoon salt Mix all ingredients well, kneading just to combine. On floured surface, roll out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out into little squares or other shapes. PLace on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Store in airtight container in fridge |
Champion Breakfast
* 1 to 2 Tbs safflower oil * 4 oz ground beef, chicken, or turkey * dash garlic salt * 2 eggs * 1 Tbs steamed carrots, minced * 1 tsp cottage cheese Heat the oil in a small skillet over medium heat. Cook the meat for 2 minutes and add the garlic salt. In a bowl, mix the eggs, vegetable, and cottage cheese. Add to the pan. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring often. Place in a bowl and serve warm, not hot. (Yield: 2 meals) |

* 2/3 cup water * 1/2 cup gravy (homemade) * 1/2 cup mixed vegetables, steamed * 1/2 cup cooked beef or chicken, minced * 2 Tbs cooked potato, peeled and chopped Mix all of the ingredients in a saucepan and cook over low heat until warm. Serve in a bowl, warm or hot. (Yield: 2 meals) |
Ocean Delight
* 3 Tbs dried bread crumbs * 1 egg yolk * 1 small haddock fillet (about 4 oz) * 1 tsp safflower oil Preheat the oven to 350. Spread the bread crumbs on a plate. Beat the egg yolk in a bowl and dip the fish into the egg. Lift the fish out of the egg yolk and coat with bread crumbs. Add the oil to a small baking pan. Place the fish in the pan and bake for 15 minutes on each side. Remove fish to a dish, let cool, and cut into bite-sized pieces. You may want to add a little mayonnaise to moisten. (Yield: 1 meal) |

* 4 canned sardines, drained * 1/2 tsp oil from sardine can * 1/3 cup cooked brown rice * 2 tsp cottage cheese In a bowl, mash the fish and oil with a fork. Add the brown rice and cottage cheese. Stir together. Serve. (Yield: 1 meal) |
Tabby Magnifico
* 1 egg, boiled 5 minutes * 3 Tbs boned salmon, cooked * 2 tsp cottage cheese * 1 to 2 Tbs wheat germ Place the egg and the salmon in a bowl and mash them together with a fork. Stir in the cottage cheese and wheat germ. Serve. (Yield: 2 meals) |
Rice Deluxe
* 4 Tbs cooked lamb, diced * 1/3 cup cooked brown rice * 1 Tbs steamed mixed vegetables, chopped * 1 Tbs leftover gravy In a bowl, combine the lamb and rice. Stir in the vegetables. Stir the gravy into the bowl. Serve (Yield: 2 meals) |
