DGO, for example, as of Sunday night still shows the incorrect information. I suspect only the companies that got hammered on Friday are likely to pursue this, or publicize it. But a lot of the companies that had extreme price hikes upward will also be showing huge losses on Monday, so maybe it's a self correcting thing, other than bad data being reported for the next 12 months regarding the high. It will also be interesting to see how the Naz indexes do on Monday. Mike Goode >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GEORGE TOWN, Grand Cayman--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 1, 2001--Scottish Annuity & Life Holdings, Ltd. (Nasdaq: SCOT.Q) announced today that a Nasdaq computer malfunction may have caused inaccurate information regarding its closing stock price on Friday, June 29, 2001 to be disseminated to various media outlets. According to the official Nasdaq web site, www.nasdaq.com, Scottish Annuity & Life shares closed Friday, June 29 at $17.00 per share, down $0.44 for the day. The day's high and low prices were $17.38 and $16.95, respectively. Total volume for the trading session was 7,000 shares. "Nasdaq extended the normal trading session to 5:00 pm on Friday because some of their computerized trading systems failed earlier in the day," said Scottish Annuity & Life President Scott E. Willkomm. "As best we can tell, one or more market sell orders totaling little more than 1,000 shares were executed after the normal trading session and were not properly matched with buy orders." "As a result, many media outlets reported that our stock closed at $12.69 on total trading volume of 9,300 shares," Mr. Willkomm added. "However, at around 9:00 pm on Friday evening, the official Nasdaq web site was updated to reflect a $17.00 per share closing price on total volume of 7,000 shares." --30--aw/ny* CONTACT: Scottish Annuity & Life Holdings, Ltd. Just one example is SCOT, which put out a news release regarding this. But I have seen dozens of others with similar situations, without any correction to the charts, or the new highs. Any hope that you (or your data feed vendor) will update your Friday data to reflect reality? Our list is configured to reject large and non-text postings (even if they are properly encoded) since both large files and non-text files cause various problems. This does not mean you cannot share large or non-text files with the group. Rather, you should place the file at an ftp site, and then refer to the link in your canslim posting. This way, the reader can read your posting, click on the link, and instantly see what you are talking about. If you have your own ftp site, feel free to use it. If you do not have access to your own ftp site, we have provided an anonymous ftp site. To provide your file to the group, please follow these instructions: 1. Send your file to: "ftp://ftp.xmission.com/pub/users/m/mcjathan/incoming/". See ftp instructions below. 2. After a minimum of 15 minutes, your file will be available for everyone at the URL of: ftp://ftp.xmission.com/pub/users/m/mcjathan/canslim/your_file_name where "your_file_name" is the exact name of the file you uploaded. This file name should not have spaces or other strange characters. Letter, numbers, and "." are always good, i.e. "canslim_25.gif". 3. Before posting your message to the group, test the URL of your file by copying the web address: ftp://ftp.xmission.com/pub/users/m/mcjathan/canslim/your_file_name into your browser and seeing if your browser displays the file properly. 4. Finally, send your message to the group describing your file, and be sure to explicity include the URL of your file. Although this may seem unwieldy at first, it really isn't too bad and it solves more problems than it creates. You know how there are always highball sell orders on the ECN's after hours - well what you saw on was someone entering bids 1 penny below the highball, in an attempt to trigger stop-covers/buy-stops etc... And it worked, triggering all manner of insane trades. Also, I was watching this happen closely on Friday and well aware that it was pure roguery. There was no way to match buyers and sellers, with many being locked out of the market. It was blatant manipulation, with predictable results. Sadly, I didn't get any fills: http://quote.yahoo.com/q?s=lxnt+dcgn+tbio+sipx+pgtv&d=v1 Although according to the quotes, I should have had one on DCGN. Also, a stock I hold - ICTG - actually held its gains for a little while this morning, and is still well up from its 4:00 pm close. I picked my short candidates with care - but there is ALWAYS risk. I just am thankful I was not affected (i.e. no stops were triggered), or there would have been some screaming at my brokers to do today. Good thing I wasn't tempted to sell FLIR for a quick profit at the open; it opened at 21.50 from an idiot quote of 25.03 on Friday; shorting it would have killed you already today as it is now back to the "real" 4PM Friday close of 22.85. I understood the reporter to say that all but 9 NASDAQ stocks had been corrected (as to price/volume) by Friday's close. He gave the names of the 9 stocks-and I didn't see SCOT included in the list. He also added that NASDAQ believes there will be more corrections to stock price closings because of last Friday's NASDAQ screw-up. jans In a message dated 7/2/2001 8:00:19 AM Eastern Daylight Time, stkguru@netside.net writes: << One member asked where he can get accurate data. Best suggestion I can offer is www.nasdaq.com which should be the "official" closing. Interestingly, I just ran ten symbols thru there, including my two biggest movers from Friday and also MGEN. All three still show the same results as I got on Friday. So I would guess from this that the extended trading, however ridiculous and bizarre, will stand for now, and the trades will stick.
