I concur with DSquires net listing, especially the Dailystocks.com. Another of my favorites is http://www.infobeat.com they were formerly mercury mail, and offer a wide variety of daily emails (Closing Bell is my favorite) to fit any budget (i.e. FREE). I much prefer email sent to me telling me the value of my stocks each day rather than searching the web to find my quotes (unless I'm in the active trading mode!) This is a site that is worthy of your inspection, IMO. Thanks to all who make this list great! Paul, Almost every piece of software has it's own distinct advantages. You need to determine exactly what you want from the program before you start comparing. I use TC2000 for nightly downloads of stock prices for securities that I have determined are on my watch list. Quotes for 60 stocks cost about 30 cents per day. You can't do a screen of all stocks with TC2000, unless you have already purchased at least a year's history on each stock. One years history is 39 cents per stock. TC2000 costs $29 for the software. After downloading the prices I have Supercharts scan them for any purchase criteria or customized systems I want to test for. Supercharts is an outstanding tool and has many features which can be customized. Software cost for Supercharts is about $299 I think. I have an older version so not sure what the curent price is. For a stock to be put on my watch list, it has to pass several tests or meet certain fundamental criteria. TC200 can not search for fundamental, neither can my version of Supercharts...so I use TELESCAN for finding potential candidates. TELECAN is expensive but probably the strongest, most customizable search tool available. Software cost is about $200 but they have special deals throughout the year. There are something like 200 separate criteria you can screen for (up to 40 per defined screen). This costs about $30 per month for 1 hour of online time. Additional hours are $9.95 per , and there are also different access plans available that can include mutual funds and options. Supercharts will also download directly from TELESCAN and you can then utilize some fundamental data in Supercharts as well. I run nightly screens for Stocks paying high historical dividends, one for CANSLIM criteria, one for high growth stocks, one for stocks within a 6% band of all moving averages, and a couple other test scans. I also use MS ACCESS to plug selected nightly TELESCAN downloads into, when a stock starts to exhibit movement over a period of time, I will download a couple of years history in TC2000, then run some tests on it with Supercharts.I also like to plug the nightly scans into EXCEL and run a couple of formulas on all the stocks to see how they grade out. I know all this sounds clunky and disjointed, but I can get tremendous information and analysis on the whole market, as well as my watch list within 30 minutes of walking in the door. - - ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 6 Apr 1998 08:10:32 -0400 From: "Tom Worley" Subject: [CANSLIM] World Markets Futures, Asia and Europe are suggesting an interesting market in the US today. S&P500 futures up nearly half a percent while NASDAQ100 is flat, both were essentially flat last night. This suggests to me the techs won't have a strong day. Most of Asia lost ground overnight, but Japan had an interesting reversal from down over 1% to finish up a plus 1.2%. May just be bottom fishing, may be a bounce, may have been some news I missed, but still a solid reversal. Meanwhile, Europe appears to be chugging forward pretty much across the board. My comments are strictly my own opinion, and should not be considered as a buy/sell/hold recommendation. I am a former broker and an active investor. Per DG Online, it's coming up against a tough year to year comparison. For Q3 ending 3/31 last year, it did 26 cents on $26.2 million revenues. It's latest qtr ending 12/31/97 it only did 8 cents on $23.1 million revenues. Chartwise, looks like it needs to base for several weeks before becoming a buy. Otherwise, the CS elements are all there except "N". I personally am not a fan of stocks with RS in the 80s, there are too many in the 90s available. This low a nr takes this stock well out of the top five in its group. My comments are strictly my own opinion, and should not be considered as a buy/sell/hold recommendation.
