SPECIAL SITUATION ALERTS NEWSLETTER

HOT PICK OF THE YEAR

Environmental Remediation Holding Corp. (OTCBB: ERHC)

SYMBOL: ERHC

RECENT PRICE: $ .22

SELL TARGET: $ 1.25

INVESTOR ALERT: ERHC enters into joint-venture license agreement
with SCHLUMBERGER LTD (NYSE: SLB, $60) and BAKER HUGHES, INC.
(NYSE: BHI, $40) for seismic data on some of the richest offshore
oil blocks in West Africa, where ERHC controls a huge working interest.

INVESTORS - WE HAVE FOUND THE HIDDEN GEM: (OTCBB: ERHC)

ERHC's joint-venture with SCHLUMBERGER and BAKER HUGHES puts them in
world-class company with these leaders in oil exploration and reservoir
imaging services. The involvement of SLB and BHI reinforces the
$MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR VALUE that has been placed in this offshore
drilling haven. ERHC's goal is to maximize shareholder value from
existing contractual rights, making them a significant player in
this region.

THE BIG MONEY ROLLS IN:

The seismic data from this joint-venture is being made available for
further involvement by the LARGEST OIL COMPANIES IN THE WORLD over
the next 2 weeks!
Bidding wars have already developed between major oil companies such as:
SHELL, CHEVRON/TEXACO, CONOCO, EXXON/MOBIL, PHILIPS, and MARATHON who
are willing to pay $Hundreds of Millions to drill in the oil blocks that
border on ERHC's offshore zones.

STOCK SET TO EXPLODE ON EARNINGS BOOM:

"UPSTREAM", the International Oil and Gas Newspaper considered to be the
equivalent of the "Wall Street Journal" for the Oil Industry, has stated
in a number of articles that EXXON/MOBIL believes that the oil blocks
"housing ERHC's working interest" contain over 8 BILLION BARRELS OF
RECOVERABLE OIL

TAKEOVERS RUNNING RAMPANT . . .

Oil Companies of all sizes have been the target of significant mergers
and takeovers during the past year. Many of these takeovers or buyouts
have occurred due to the value of the acquired Company's offshore oil
holdings in West Africa. One such example is Marathon Oil (NYSE: MRO, $28)
paying $900 MILLION for the West African holdings of CMS Energy
(NYSE: CMS, $23). We believe that ERHC and/or the Company's offshore oil
interests could be the next target of a takeover. This is largely
because of their exclusive right to participate in exploration and production
along with OIL INDUSTRY GIANTS, as these oil blocks are adjacent to Billion
Barrel producing regions!

In this case, I had included it in some of my WWW lists, and written about it as well, so felt the group deserved to know that I had acted finally with real money (e.g. conviction). It does fail many of CANSLIM requirements. On the other hand, the forecasts call for earnings to double this year, then double again next year. So I am buying it for long term core holding, and expect it will meet CANSLIM requirements over time. Fundies and the "story" weight more for me on this one than strict CS rules. This stock is a great example of why I tend to look at sequential earnings more than year to year (Y2Y). On a Y2Y basis, they have good percentage gains. But on a sequential basis, they are close to being flat. EarningsWhisper does not give a whisper # yet, but does show analysts forecast at 26 cents (which seems low if they are to meet full year forecast of $1.23). That means that they will be up slightly sequentially, but down on a Y2Y basis. During 2001, they had a weak year to compare to. In 2002, by contrast, they compare to a much improved year. As a general comment on primary/secondary offerings after the IPO, the market generally tends to sell off the stock from the time of the announcement of the offering until the offering is complete. That may be why they finally priced this one $3 below market closing, but also suggests weakness in the stock. Q4 results clearly show that their sales, and earnings, are increasing rapidly. Key will be what they do with the portion of proceeds from the offering that the company receives. Remember that the newly issued shares (2.5 mil) will be counted on a "weighed average" basis in calculating Earnings Per Share. So if they put the money to work quickly, and it results in near immediate sales and earnings growth, then the dilutive effect of the new shares is partially, or completely, mitigated by increased net profits. It had been trading over $39. AskIBD says that a public offering of additional shares is generally positive for a stock. But also says that a stock offering increases the number of shares outstanding, which decreases earnings per share. EPS is one the main drivers of a stock's price. But on its own, an offering is not a sell signal. It depends on how large the offering is and how investors react to it. The company may have credible plans for the additional capital. If your stock continues to act well, there's no reason to sell it. I can't provide details at the moment on number of shares outstanding, etc as I am having problems reaching the DGO site. During my early years as a stock broker, we considered anything trading under $1.00 (e.g. actually quoted in pennies) as a penny stock. Gradually over time the definition rose to anything under $5.00. I even had one client that defined anything trading on NASDAQ as a penny stock (he didn't like it when I pointed out various Naz listings like MSFT)!! My personal choice for applying CANSLIM is low priced small and micro cap stocks. I still apply CANSLIM principles, along with chart reading, TA, news, etc. An example is DOCC, currently trading $7.42. However it has an RS of 96 and an EPS of 84. Forecast for this year is a 57% growth in earnings, with another 22% next year. Industry group is A, SMR is B. And I, and others in the group with the experience and risk tolerance, can make money on stocks like this while still applying most CANSLIM criteria. I would also point out that this is not a terrible violation of WON guidance, as I can find many stocks he includes in his DG books that are trading at low prices, low volume, or low market cap. In fact, when I first started using WON services well over a decade ago, most of his daily "picks" were in the mid cap to small cap range. I also recognize that micro or small cap stocks are neither mainstream CANSLIM, nor suitable for most investors. They are more volatile, and certainly higher risk, that bigger and more established companies. They are often not followed by major analysts, if by any analyst at all (then again, the anal ists didn't do real good on Enron, Global Crossings, etc). So I rarely discuss my personal buys here, as they reflect my own personal interpretation and application of CANSLIM. But you can bet when I do, I don't consider them a "penny stock", but rather a largely undiscovered gem. Price does not create value or opportunity, good business execution does that.
