It's really wild !@! Those rekkids are on Capitol and some of them are led by Billy May. Worth finding ;) "Record collecting is no mere hobby, no leisurely innocuous diversion. Curious stuff. The scoop is that you got a masterpiece. The only Ahbez LP, released in 1960. Of course, like all masterpieces, it was unintentional. Eden Ahbez wrote * Nature Boy * for Nat King Cole, ate alot of nuts and berries, slept outdoors under the Hollywood sign, wore sandals and looked like sweet, sweet Jesus. However amdist these Tiki crimes there is a restaurant that has got to be one of the top polyensian restaurants on the continent - Mai Kai (located at 3599 North Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale) Having experienced three Trader Vic's and one Don the Beachcomber's (on the mainland) and several other Polyensian-style haunts I have to say this place ranks the best of the lot. Immense tikis , a luau show, several rooms fantastically decorated, a very good drink menu (although trader vic's is still numero uno in this department) and atmosphere a plenty thanks to an outdoor, and even in door waterfalls, gardens and lighted torches. They even have a great gift shop where you can buy neat t-shirts, Hawaiian shirts, Scorpion bowls etc.! No less than two waiters are assinged per table as you get service like old restaurants used to have. They are now celebrating 40 years in business (opened in 1956!)...this place is well worth a visit...Truly a Tiki Nirvana!
