From: owner-hats-digest@lists.xmission.com (hats-digest) To: hats-digest@lists.xmission.com Subject: hats-digest V2 #250 Reply-To: hats-digest Sender: owner-hats-digest@lists.xmission.com Errors-To: owner-hats-digest@lists.xmission.com Precedence: bulk X-No-Archive: yes hats-digest Friday, July 27 2001 Volume 02 : Number 250 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 13 Jul 2001 04:38:45 -0700 (PDT) From: SR Livengood Subject: Re: (hats) On Tuesday hey- On Tuesday- depends on what level you are listening to the album on. here is a few ideas: (and these work for the album as a whole, not just the one song) the "Pop" interpretation: all music albums (in the states anyhow) are released on Tuesday- on Tuesday POP (music) goes the world- this is us listening to the album. think of the song being about the album, the next song "somewhere in the distance....on the bright side of the sun"- how about eventually, after we listen enough to this album, it will all make sense! i could go on about each song, but..... it all finishes with "will we all meet again at the end of the world?"- will we listen to it again? now try this: make it "TWO's Day" the "lovers" interpretation the lovers (jenny and johnny) meet- this is the day and the song is about- well, tis pretty straightforward with that in mind..... she comes into his heart, his world.... the psychedelic interpretation: mixing a particular fruit of a plant and a most particular very potent psychoactive liquid (here is our "two") produces a most unique experience... this ties in with the "self" interpretation, where when he says "you" in this song, he is refering to his self, and jenny and johnny here (for the album) represent the two selves- the true nature of being and the self strapped to the karmic wheel. psychedelics have the effect of putting many in contact with the "higher" self.... the "life journey" interpretation- on tuesday is about birth, entrance into this realm of duality, hence the two- yin/yang to be real basic, and the whole album being about a journey through life. so there are a few of my ideas. of course, i have listened to that album numbering in the thousands of times! :) drop me a line if you like!
