Interesting I can't help feeling the version of 'Gary Joins the JAMS' on this CD is different to anything I've heard before. I'll have to listen to the 'GJTJ' 12" and compare when I get home. Also remember how I emailled about The Verve's sampling run-in with the Rolling Stones over 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' and how Richard Ashcroft described it as a "...KLF sort of thing"? From what i gathered from the list: * it appears that it is not an official release, and is a kinda bootleg. * looking at all the samples, it probably would not be possible to clear all the samples for a proper release. * the CD contains versions of the tracks not found elsewere. Waiting is slightly different to the video, and the Rites of Mu track is very different to the one most of the list has heard before. * Is was sent out to shops irrispective of whether they ordered copies or not. * B & J possibly need money for new projects... Also, you can tell how professional Echo Beach is by phoning them on a Saturday evening, which is the best time to reach them, while before noon nobody seems to be awake around their place. Recmail, which a related mailorder company, seems to be in the same appartment as Echo Beach, and if you send them money, you have to make cheques payable to "Crime Art LTD". After gambling for a while I noticed a guitar sample which sounded very familiar to me... it was the guitar sample from JUSTIFIED & ANCIENT which form the backbone of the track... The duo, Jimmy Cauty and Bill Drummond, now operating as K2 Plant Hire, have announced that they intend to erect a massive pyramid containing one brick for every person born in the UK during the 20th century.
