In 1990 when their debut 'O'Locco' was released on the UK acid house cult label WAU! Mr Modo complete with Jimmy Cauty, Youth and Dr.Alex Patterson mixes. The record was received as a classic and licensed in all directions where the wind might blow. It's combination of sensual rhythm and both psychedelic and elegant electronics was perfectly in tune with what Alex Patterson introduced as 'ambient house for the e-generation'. Consequently they've continued working with Alex and The Orb regularly, touring together (last in 97 on a lengthy US-tour) but also collaborating on groundbreaking Orb material as īPomme Fritzī (...) On a few collaborations of cauty, the name of Jimmy Cauty was Gavin Cauty. He didnīt want to have any connections with Alex nor The Orb at that time. I think I sent a large text file a few months ago about the split of the ORB and the reason for the "Gavin" actions. Take a look at that article for I cannot find it anymore... Ofcourse all the latest records of S.E. Berlin are out of print. They have been deleted. Thatīs the deal on www.badorb.com . You place an order with 143 others and there will be a total run of 144 records. After that, they will be deleted. YEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Now i was looking for some information about the KLF, for instance what happend to the second CD? for as far as i know is that the two guys had a fight just before the second CD was going to be pressed, and they split up so the CD never came in the stores is this a real story or is it true, and if it's true where is the CD? You don't know much about The KLF do you? Luckily you come to the right place. The White Room was not The KLF's first CD. Here's some information:- 1987 - Bill Drummond & Jim Cauty get together and write an album called 1987 - What The F***'s Going On?, One song samples loads of Dancing Queen by Abba (without Abba's permission) so Abba threaten legal action. 1987 is withdrawn from the shelves, B&J go on a big hunt to Stockholm to find Abba and offer them an award (they don't find Abba, the award goes to a Stockholm prostitute). On the way back they stop off in a field to burn all remaining copies of 1987 (except some which they sold in The Guardian a few years later). Later they bring out 1987 - What The F***'s Going On - The Edits, which is the same as 1987 except the Dancing Queen samples have been removed and there is a description of how to re-create this with your own equipment. Then they start releasing some more albums and singles mainly under the title of The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu or The JAMMs like Who Killed The Jams, Kylie Said To Jason, etc, etc. They then team up with a 1968 Ford Galaxy (which they refer to as Ford Timelord), and rip loads of BBC samples to produce Doctorin' The Tardis. Also from this came Gary In The Tardis. Then comes The Best of The Jams aka The Timelords which features some of there early tracks on like All You Need Is Love, Candyman, Whitney Joins The Jams, and Doctorin The Tardis. After this they do a few more albums including Chill Out which is a mix of more BBC samples (they certainly got their money's worth out of the TV licence fee!). Then they release The White Room and some singles from the White Room (A sides mainly re-mixes) like 3 AM Eternal (featuring Ricardo Da Force who is also the rapper on N-Trance's DISCO and Stayin' Alive), Last Train To Trancentral, What Time Is Love?/America:What Time Is Love and Justified & Ancient (featuring the late Tammy Wynette). In 1992 they won the Brit Awards and did an absolute spectacular trick. During the Brit Awards when they performed they shot blanks into the audience but didn't tell anyone :). Then when it came for them to collect the award they sent someone on a motorbike to retrieve it, and at the after show party they dumped a dead sheep. After the Brits they deleted the entire KLF back catalogue and declared they had left the music industry. The other album that I think you may be referring to could be The Black Room which was suppossed to be the opposite of The White Room, a few years ago someone came up with The Black Room MP3 demos (which I have) and they sound appalling, it's more Metallica style than KLF (I think they're hoax). After deleting the back catalogue they got together to do some "art work". One of their creations was "Watch The KLF Burn a Million Quid", they went to the Isle of Jura in Scotland and burnt what they claim to be "1,000,000" pounds and put the ash into a suitcase. Also they produced an award for the winner of the best art piece award but they called it the worst art piece. Then in 1997 they released a single called "F*** The Millennium" under the name 2K or "The artists forever known as The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu" and played at The Barbican in London for one night only and launched a millennium crisis line. They also started a should we "F*** The Millennium" campaign in the Guardian, the result was Yes and plans were made on the K2 Plant Hire website to build a pyramid at Loch Ness with one brick for each person living in 2000. This idea never seemed to take off and the website http://www.k2planthire.ltd.uk seems to have ceased to exist. # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info klf" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email klf@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # KLF discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?klf ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 25 Aug 2001 09:38:07 +0200 From: "Torsten Pattberg" Subject: (klf) Deep Shit When comparing Lazlo's discography with that short one printed in Pete Robinson's "Justified & Ancient History" there is a difference with the Deep Shit record.
