Like someone already mentioned, I would definitely try disconnecting your side stand safety switch. It is not as well protected as it seems from the elements. My bike suffers the same symptons when it gets wet. The link for instructions to do it are at; http://www.dualsport.org Good luck! I verified this on all of my pc's, some running '98 and others NT. I grew up riding Kawis and have always wanted to get another one but I was in the Military and moving alot plus I got married and bought a house and had a kid etc... Now at 31 years old I got out of the Army we found a place we love (Alaska) and on our feet again. So I have to get a bike!!!! My Wife was not to keen on the idea but once I talked to her and explained how long I have waited and how much it means to me she agreed. I looked at all Dual-Sport bikes and fell in love with the KLR650! I was racing the KE125 when I was 9 years old! I enclosed a pic of me playing around on my 125 . I was 10 years old when this was takin. I plan on getting my bike in May when the snow clears, I went to the shop today and took pics and the owner even took a pic of me sitting on my dream bike! Anyways, glad to be a member of this list and hope to see you all up here in Alaska some day! Actually, I believe it was 1983 with the introduction of "Lisa", the Macintosh's industrial predecessor. It is also since 1983 that people have been telling me to stay away from Apple because they're going out of business, LOL. Anyway, while it it true that the machines and OS are Y2K (and Y29K) ready, certain older apps, such as MS Word 6, require patches. Could someone out there give me the specifics on adjusting the chain on my '91 klr. I just spent the last hour reading from the archives how easy it is to do, but nowhere is it mentioned how to do it. I'm assuming that if I loosen the axle nut that I can just slide the axle back a notch on the adjuster plate. I'm hesitant to do this however because in the only manual I have, the one for the 600 with a different adjuster mechanism it specifically says "do not loosen the axle nut." Any help is greatly appreciated. P.S. Anyone know a good mechanic in L.A. or S.D. I bought the bike with 3k miles and am up to 11k without any service. I know I need to take it in soon.
