You have an inner seal that is starting to fail. Kawasaki fixed mine so I don't know what you can expect in price for dealer repair. It may be the mechanical seal on the water pump shaft but I'm not sure since I did not fix it myself. You are the first I have seen report this on the list since I came on about a year ago. There will be advice forthcoming. There have been a few leaks reported on this list and some from the waterpumps too. ;<) Fred - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ron Criswell" To: Sent: Thursday, February 24, 2000 4:15 AM Subject: (klr650) klr > My A12 KLR with 12000 miles on it has begun a little drip of coolant > down under the water pump area through I believe the little drain hole. > I discovered the drips on my Moose skid plate. I replaced my A9's last year. Easy procedure except for twice being sold the wrong sized oil seal (not necessary to replace unless leaking) and replacing the ceramic mechanical seal the first time without replacing the impeller (which had cracks on the internal flange). By the time I recovered from my mistakes, and the dealers, I had a new dealer/supplier located in California with faster shipping than my local guy, and I was pretty good at the task. I agree with Fred though, watch it for worsening, and don't take it apart until the weather sucks.
