Just came home to vienna...but can't sleep. What a concert! Great show! Yeah, there were some technical problems (onln Ralf's Robot moved, for example) , but didn't matter. Tracks played: Nummern Computerwelt Homecomputer The Man-Machine Tour De France Autobahn Airwaves Radioaktivit=E4t ! first new song ! Trans Europa Express Taschenrechner Die Roboter/Robotronik ! second new song ! Musique Non Stop And I was able to take some photos. After the show we met Kraftwerk at Hotel...sorry, forgot the name. Something with "W" beginning. And Fritz Hilpert signed my CD! By the way: Ralf H=FCtter didn't seem to be in a good mood...he had a very grimmy face and didn't say "Gute Nacht" at the end of the concert as usual. Florian Schneider smiled sometimes and shaked to the rhythm m of the beat. A friend asked Fritz Hilpert, when the new Album will be released, his answer was "Kommt schon". I didn't even know what time the gig was, but, I DID pick up some really strong signals around 1-2am PDT, which would be 9 or 10 hours later in Linz, right? That would explain my nervous breakdown last night. -(more like all week)- They must have been playing around noon there or doing a sound check, playing the other new songs. My husband and I were discussing my HomePage, and suddenly I was bombarded: "Yeah, I need two little traffic cones here, and.... *ARGH*! AnOther NEW song!" I tore out half my hair, ran into my room, and cried myself to sleep. I couldn't handle it. I finally dozed off intermittently between 3am and 9am. I dreamed I was THERE. Maybe I was.*sigh*. I was getting VERY strong VIBES from Florian later on- that must've been when he appeared at the meeting. Gee, it's funny- I knew what time the TG gig was, so, I had ALL of my energy totally focused at the right moment, and nothing bad happened to their equipment that time. Even so, I'll try to be more careful on Saturday. ;] ROBOWINKY ?I know you are upset, but I promise they play the USA soon........ (well.....maybe)! Dream on....*sigh*.... There are thousands of similar bootlegs out there by hundreds of different artists. - -- ::: Lazlo (lazlo@swcp.com; http://www.swcp.com/lazlo) ::: Internet Music Wantlists: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo/Wantlists # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Email majordomo@xmission.com with "info kraftwerk" in the message. # Postings must go to kraftwerk@xmission.com -- replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Oct 1997 18:40:48 +0200 From: josefgabler@magnet.at Subject: Re: (kw) Linz Mailing List Meeting Report In message ID on 17.10.97,=20 Georg.Jajus@blackbox.at wrote:=20 >Alexander Peter Zillner wrote:=20 >=20 >>Hi!=20 >>Present Persons:=20 >=20 >>Josef Gabler=20 >>Friend of Josef Gabler=20 >=20 >I think Hubert was his name...?=20 =20 - -=B0-- Well, that=B4s right. =20 - -=B0-- He is maybee a little bit "crazy" but a good friend of mine=20 since over 10 Years.=20 - -=B0-- I=B4m still very serious!=20 - -=B0-- He photographed the show with his digital camera and Ralf looked=20 very strange =20 - -=B0-- to him. I think they had a >> >midi output in that little amasing wood box! There's a number of ways of doing it: Bob Moog's company, Big Briar, just released a MIDI theremin. It's very cool, and pretty damned expensive. Some Big Briar theremins have a CV-out on the back, so they can control CV-based analog synths (or with a CV-MIDI converter, a MIDI synth) Theremaniacs in Milwaukee makes some retrofits for theremins that add CV to just about anything. A pitch-to-MIDI converter might work on a standard audio out, as the signal is pretty simple, but since there's a lot of change in overtones and pitch bend it might not be able to track fast enough. Theremins are just so cool. I got my Big Briar Etherwave for $300! It's not the best theremin on earth, but it was cheap and by god is it fun to play. I recommend them highly for anyone who wants to experiment in electronic music. =--------------------------Eric Oehler-----------------------------= | wonko@itis.com http://www.itis.com/~wonko | =------------------------------------------------------------------= Can you think of another word for "synonym"? # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Email majordomo@xmission.com with "info kraftwerk" in the message. # Postings must go to kraftwerk@xmission.com -- replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ End of kraftwerk Digest V3 #159 ******************************* To subscribe to kraftwerk Digest, send the command: subscribe kraftwerk-digest in the body of a message to "majordomo@xmission.com".
