I picked up the new(old) YMO album on vinyl, with remixes by Orbital, 808 state etc... very cool indeed But even cooler was the addition of the "tong Poo" Orb remixes, on a separate 12"! "not to be sold separately" yeah sure right :) the whole package cost AUS$38, but just the orb 12" by itself would have to be worth that (to me!) just for your info orb on Kael # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 06 Jul 1998 10:13:59 GMT From: Smiley@cracl.demon.co.uk (Smiley) Subject: (orb) Re: System 7 on compilations neil writes: > And speaking of these guys, I recently heard a vinyl 12" single full of > remixes of "Ring of Fire" (on Butterfly). Subject: (orb) translation of Outlands, Live 93 Hello fellow orbbits! In the version of Outlands on the Live '93 album, there is a man singing in Arabic (Turkish? forgive my ignorance!). I am wondering if anyone has any idea of what the translation is to what he is saying. Personally I find his emotion behind the words to be very moving, and would love to know of what he is speaking. I think it's a terrific addition to an already great song. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it! If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks - I know very little about Islam, but isn't it the part of the Koran that is chanted every day early in the morning from Mosques? I think it's pretty standard, because the same thing shows up in Byrne/Eno's My life in the bush of ghosts, and on some Phillip Glass album.
