Nope, it's dated 1998 because the entire album was totally finished by end of September 1998, but because of (I assume this was why) Virgin taking over Junior Boys Own it didn't get released until March 1st, 1999 in the UK and Europe and even later in the US, April 13th my discography says. I gotta say I was only moderately impressed with the CD and actually expected something a little more relaxed (can you tell I've not heard any of Underworld's stuff before?) and didn't expect quite so much in the way of vocals. With this being said, could any of you make a list of your fav's from 99 that are a little more mellow and ambient? The other day I downloaded a "direct x"-based visualisation-plugin for WinAmp called Geiss from http://www.winamp.com/plugins - the sound of my jar hitting the desk on starting it woke up the neighbours. Geiss generates fluid and utterly psychedelic graphics according to the music played with WinAmp. So you won't be surprised to hear that it simply *works* with The Orb. It's like watching *the* appropriate videos for their tracks (I particularly liked OOBE (Pool Mix) from UFOff Disc 2 :-)). Another prime candidate for Geiss-guided listening is Lustmord. Best for last: Geiss is totally free! Enjoy, Volker.
