To members of this list I would strongly recommend these SoA recordings (in order of preference): Jaggernaut: Whirling Dub Cosmic Jugalbandi Total Eclipse of the Suns Kokoromochi Alap-Joe-Jhala Suns of Arqa Meet the Gayan Uttejak Orchestra The management is not responsible for any of these being out of print. I could post some links, but I don't think anyone would ever talk to me again. =) - -=Seofon # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Jul 2001 01:25:32 +0200 From: "Dr.Winston O'Boogie" Subject: SV: (orb) Orb dub connection The best Scientist record in my opinion is Scientist wins the world cup! :) /Dwb : The Scientist record I was talking about yesterday is actually : called "The Scientist Rids the World of the Curse of the Evil Vampires" : Also I remembered the name of the Lee Scratch album with a lot of Orb : samples on it: The Upsetters "Blackboard Jungle Dub" as in "Welcome to : blackboard jungle, now don't you fumble just be humble". : Good luck orbspotting! Contact me off the list if you are interested, I am in Santa Cruz so if you live nearby or on the way carpooling is a possibility. I'm also auctioning off a brown cover (with ft explores satan mix!) and blue cover (with Scourge of the Earth Long Mix) Once More 12"s on Ebay. They are two separate auctions and have received no bids yet, with the opening bid at a mere $5 dollars. Search for "Orb Once More", or look under my user ID: ikkiwikki. If things get out of hand and they go over ten bucks (which I doubt they will) I'll give 20% off to anyone who mentions this list. Thanks for reading my shameless plugs! I went to the Chicago area one festival primarily to see the orb and figured it would be an extra treat to see some of the other acts. Well I sort of figured that the schedule on the website was accurate so as I went to find the second stage I heard the track that the orb ends with coming out if it. I missed their entire set. DOH!! If I hadn't just seen them when they came through a few months back I would have been devastated. Anyway maybe Gavin will take pity on me and let me buy a copy of the show off of him. If you guys want to kick me off the list for failing as an orb fan I will understand.... merrick ps. I must agree that Ayn Rand is really bad. __________________________________________________________________ Good web architects make sites that are useful, usable, informative, entertaining, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing.
