"25 Apr 1995 11:35:00 +0100 (BST) dear all, I managed (finally) to see the orb live at Southampton on the 20th Mar. and I was completely blown away by the whole thing;I was expecting a chilled-out float-fest along the lines of "Adventures.." and not the rampant dance-a-thon fuelled by the live drums and bass ( a brilliant addition IMHO).Waterford,Assassin and Towers of Dub stood out for me but all the tracks seemed to be injected with a new groove. Just when you thought it was safe to sit down and skin up another colossal wave of bass would send you skanking manically across the dance-floor.Everyone there seemed to be "into it" from the tripped-out love bunnies at the front,to the foot-tappers at the back who could barely be seen through a haze of skunk smoke.Even though illicit substances and the orb seem to go together like Ren and Stimpy this was a concert which provided it's own high,still that's just what I think.... love'n hugs Gabe "the music was fantastic....."
