I had heard the name 'Orb' before the fall of 1994, but didn't know anything at all about them. On the off chance it would be good, I drove 2 hours to Atlanta to see LX and DJ Lewis spin all night long after seeing their names next to the Orb on a flyer. A friend drove 2 hours from another direction, and we met up and went inside. What followed was some of the best music I've ever heard. It's the only time I've stayed at a club until the 'real' lights were turned on. We were the last people out of there. It turns out it was just le petite Orb, but I'm glad I got to see it because I've never heard of LX and DJ Lewis spinning together anytime after that.... I know there's a recording of this show. I had a really bad copy once. If anybody has this, please get in touch. It may also be in the form of a radio show from Atlanta's College radio - Album 88, with an interview. - -daryl _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Sep 2001 17:04:32 -0700 From: Chris Johnson Subject: (orb) Andy Hughes DJ Set & Interview Hey kids! (I also finally have the ReadyMade Uro-Breaks CD on its way to me; can't wait to hear it...) Also, there is an OceanClub compilation CD out there that has Shuttle from SE Berlin, Fehlmann's Fishy song, and a couple other goodies, including the "Don't Touch Me Tomato" song that LX has been dropping into his DJ sets here and there.
