Ok, so if yer an orb completist does that mean you'll order all the badorb repressings, too? You might get BOB 1R, 2R, 3R... which isn't the same or is it? And is getting a repressing the same if you ordered the original pressing and it was damaged and there were no replacements pressed just in case some were damaged or somehow the replacement is different because you rcvd BOB 1R->3R? Should you be refunded your original money and send in replacement money since you have effectively payed for a different pressing? Perhaps not getting a Certificate of Authenticity with your original pressing makes it unique, too or is it really inauthentic cause you didn't get the Certificate along with the slab o' vinyl only to receive the Cert. later--leaving you with the nagging question of did I get the original certificate of authenticity or was it a reprint/repress, too? Mebbe, it's inauthentic cause the shipping box is different somehow with the repressings or maybe it's not.....perhaps some will be sent from one post office or another and the former is more authentic somehow or less authentic. Or [gasp] the slabs were'nt sent out with repsect to order rcvd or perhaps order obtained. Or perhaps by a completist you mean you have a copy of each piece of music released without regard to matrix numbers or perhaps with regards to matrix numbers.....or without regard to format or strictly with regard to format.... Will there be 'repressing' mp3s made available of BOB 1->3 if there's slightly different artwork--like an "R" for the matrix number or perhaps something different scratched in the run-out groove. feh, - --spearman (feeling pressed, er repressed, er, somewhatlessthanpressed or perhaps oppressed or simply Orbpressed) _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info orb" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email orb@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Oct 2001 19:45:42 -0000 From: "Wilcox, Rebecca L - EWW EXO" Subject: RE: (orb) completist vs completist and BOB 1->3... And the UK version is supposed to have a different tracklist (i.e. it includes - amongst other tracks - KLF's "3AM Eternal (Blue Danube Mix)")... The same goes for the reissued stereo volume 1 - I bought the US version (on Ultra Records), but no news on the UK Deviant release... Any ideas???? l8rs, Nick ;-) P.S. The Orb at the Royal Festival Hall was superb - mostly old tracks inc. HAHAHAHAAAAAAA Gee, wasn't badorb advertised at all the shows? For quite awhile before actual web assembly? Didn't we all wait months for the site to actually take orders? I think any "orb completist" would have found themselves in such a line... Hi, This whole elitist "Bobs" thread is just too wierd. This whole limited pressing thing is bullshit. Who and why is it being promoted? I find it selfish and elitist. Why is everyone so concerned with its rareness? So they can make big $$ on Ebay someday? So they could be the ONLY ones who have these releases and then tease everyone else who don't have it? Sounds like a bunch of spoiled kids with their baseball cards. I am also an Orb completist but sure didn't find myself in the line to get those Bobs. I guess I will be the begging for it later ;) This sure isn't why I'm into the Orb. Why is this even happening? Does this whole elite Bob collector thing bother anyone else or is it just my noncapitalist radical roots showing? Why is this sort of thing promoted anyway? Look what I have that you don't, it's soo rare and its now worth $______.... Freedom and peace to all, K _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
