Hello, The new YELLO album is in full production, but no dates have been finalized. Don't expect it before the fall. I bought two copies of Eccentrix and now other one is for sale. Record is new and price will be $22 + postage ($2 to Europe and $4 to outside of Europe). I can also trade it to some other Yello stuff, so offer something... BTW I am old rockabilly fan and I think so that original "More" is much more rocabilly style than "rockabilly mix". Actually seems that in original version was used upright bass (slap bass) which make it lot more rocabilly style than these mix. When I was first time hear rumours about rocabilly mix I taught that there will be more slappin' with upright bass. I taught so because in several videos Boris playing slap bass or joking to play it (look at "Rhythm Divine" and "Live At The Roxy"). Anyway, I believe that he also love play (or listen sound of) slap bass, am I right, anyone konow?? "Rockabilly Mix" is really good track but it's not any rockabilly style. The shop also had the "On Track" single which I tried to get two years ago in Sweden, so I guess that I will order from Norway in the future. If you live within Scandinavia the shipping=20 cost isn't much worse than inside your own country. I must say that I am a bit dissapointed by the new album. I think that they have chosen too many non-Yello remixes, and the bad ones too. The Race (Brake Light Mix) - Many nice stereo effects. A little bit to long and some electrical sound in the background that I don't like. Still, it's one of the songs I listen to. **** How How (Papa-Who-Ma-Mix) - I have the single and has only listened to it= once. Not one of my favourites. * More (Rockabilly Mix) - Maybe a little bit long, but my absolute favourite on this album. I love the electrical rhythm and the base. ***** Do It (Marky P. & Teri B. Dub) - Have the single and never play it. * Topaz (Insect Mix) - Boris' version of "Mission Impossible" and I think it's rather good. But I must say that the ones who did the title song for the movie did a better job with it. **** How How (In Silence Mix) - Don't have the single but if I had I don't think= I would be listening to this song very often. * On Track (Doug Laurent's First Journey) - I have wanted to hear this song= since the talk started about it 2 years ago and now I finally got the opportunity (especially since I bought the "On Track" single too). A very nice remix. **** Vicious Games (Boris Blank & Olaf Wollschl=E4ger Mix) - Got the single and I listen to it sometimes but nothing speial. *** Rubberbandman (Rubber Mix) - I've always liked Rubberbandman and this mix= isn't a bad one. *** She's Got A Gun (Live At The Palladium N.Y.) - Got the single, but it was nice to get it on CD. My favourite Yello track, altough I prefer it with lyrics. *** To The Sea (TSWL Mix) - Very boring - havn't even listened through it once.= - I thought it was nice that Yello released a remix album but would have= prefered older remixes and their own remixes. This was some kind of new "Hands on Yello" album and a Yello single in one package. For some reason I was unsubscribed from Yello mailing list, but now I'm= back. To the best of anyone's knowledge is this Dieter? If I had just seen the commercial once I would think that It's my eyes, but I've seen this commercial at least 10 times now and I really think it's Dieter. Anyway, I look at Eccentrix as a teaser for the ALL NEW album, and any Yello is better than no Yello at all! # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Send the command "info yello" to majordomo@lists.xmission.com. # To post, email yello@lists.xmission.com; replies go to original sender. # Yello discography available at http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?yello ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Alex Matveev Subject: Re[2]: (yello) FTP Date: 20 Mar 1999 00:02:51 +0300 Hello Gennadiy, =EF=FF=F2=ED=E8=F6=E0, 19 =EC=E0=F0=F2=E0 1999 =E3., you wrote: GT> Sorry about it. The last Platipus release listed is PLAT 50CD PLATIPUS RECORDS VOLUME 4, so the number "PLAT52" seems to fit in. Perhaps we'll see Exentrix released here in the UK too?? I did not purchase it as I am not a great fan of the song, but there were several remixes on the cd. What do some of the remixes sound like, are they any good? Is it worth buying the thing for the remixes. The single was rather expensive (as much as a full cd normally costs here).
