Ostrogoths

More Goths. Not actually termed Ostrogoths per se in this period, they were attacked by the Huns in 370 when their realm was at a peak, ruling most of modern Ukraine and beyond, north of the Black Sea. King Ermanaric fell on his sword rather than submit to the Huns, but most of his people were more reasonable.

They were - for barbarians - somewhat civilized. This position is more properly the Crimean Goths, who escaped Hunnic domination and eventually contributed to forming the Ostrogothic realm from disparate factions - once the Huns were safely out of the picture, of course.

Later founded Ostrogothic Italy.
