Activities

We look forward to different displays and activities, but each year we offer face painting because it is so much fun for everyone. The hay rides and petting zoo are a big hit with the kids. We love them, too!

The tractor display is amazing. The richness of our heritage is shown in the artistry of the committed individuals who invested time and resources to restore these classics. We hope to show Fest participants more of our nations history. Thanks to all who provide their equipment.

Open-Air Entertainment

Dress for the weather as we have a full event schedule of entertain-ment throughout the day and into the evening featuring live music and cowboy poetry along with a variety of heritage demonstrations such as

  • Blacksmithing
  • Horse training
  • Wool spinning
  • Goat milking
  • Natural hoof care & equine nutrition
  • Soap making
  • Watercolor
  • Pine knot carving

If you would like to become a demonstrator, you may submit an entertainer form for review. Fest producers cannot compensate demonstrators, but encourage each volunteer to pass out business cards and collect donations for yourself.

Don't forget the jack-o-lantern hay rides! They will be fun in the sun, but we can't wait to see the illuminated jack-o-lantern entries after dark.

Music

If you are interested in becoming an entertainer at the festival you may submit an entertainer form or for more information, contact us. In keeping with the old-time flavor of the festival, we seek musicians who fiddle, play blue grass, country, or folk music.

At this time, Fest producers cannot compensate musicians, but please feel free to collect donations for yourself.
