I grew up visiting Mammoth Lakes,
California for about 2-3 months each year.
This
USGS page plots earthquakes occurring there on a 3-D shaded
map. I figure earthquakes are just part of the Mammoth experience. Since
the community is almost entirely wood structures, very little serious damage
occurrs--even during the big ones. If you happen to be skiing moguls at the
time a big one hits, you don't even notice!
I spent most of the rest of
my youth in Los Angeles, so it's natural for me to
follow the
earthquakes there as well.
I'm a real Far Side
fan--isn't everyone? The closest thing on
the web is Doctor
Fun.
When I came across the page on Strawberry
Pop-Tart Blow Torches I had trouble finishing reading it because I was
laughing so hard.
