AppInventor Summer Workshop - June 25 - 27, 2012

Dear Junior High and High School teachers, and even College professors,

The Utah chapter of the CSTA is proud to present the following workshop.

Would you like a new way to introduce students to programming? Thinking about jumping on to the mobile development craze? Then I have a summer workshop for you. It is a three day workshop held in Sandy Utah. We will be stressing the teaching of introductory programming concepts using AppInventor. We will be covering how to introduce topics in computer science and programming using the visual environment. We will also go over how to load these apps onto an Android device and the benefits of using a graphical language.

Sandy is a suburb of Salt Lake City and is minutes away from the airport and local attractions.

Location: Canyons Technical Education Center, 9085 S 825 E Sandy UT

Date: June 25-27 2012, 8 AM to 3:30 PM each day

Cost: 100

Java Android Summer Workshop - July 16-18, 2012

Dear High School teachers and College professors,

Are you interested in adding a new and interesting topic after the AP exam or something for your advanced students to work on in independent study? I am offering a three day workshop on using java to develop Android apps in the eclipse environment. We will go over the installation of the SDK and the AVD manager, develop a couple of apps for Android devices, load apps onto devices as well as how to introduce your apps to the Android Marketplace. This is a great opportunity to bring students in to a popular area of computer programming that they can immediately share with friends and family and can be a great recruiting tool.
