MY RE-BIRTHDAY
On October 31, 2003 at 16:17 MST, I was re-born!
From now on, I will live my entire life as a woman - at home,
at work, and everywhere.
WARNING Rational INFP at play
here!
Expect to find long-unfinished projects, a dose of sarcasm,
some deep emotional content, and weird philosophical concepts.
If you wonder what this is, check out the links. How can I be a
rational INFP? Check out the Logic and Emotion story.
The chemical elements that make up our world are quite fascinating.
For some time, I have wanted to collect them. I have finally found good
sources, and I am well on my way to a reasonably complete collection of all
but the highly radioactive synthetic elements. Here, you can see how the
collection is progressing.
Thought of the Moment
January 15, 2006
"I see your pain; I just don't want to feel it." --L. Strong
Predict the future! Take this test and find out which of sixteen dystopic
visions of the future of the United States is in store for all of us. Be
frightened. Be very frightened.
Dreadful Poetry
The Warty Toad
March 30, 2005
A warty toad said to me,
"Why art thou wartless, unlike me?"
To this toad, I replied,
"I have warts, just like thee.
The toad, confus-ed, said to me,
"Where are thy warts which I can't see?"
With heavy sigh I then replied,
"Inside my soul, where none can see..."

WEBSITE NEWS
December 26, 2008
I have added a few more telephones and other collectibles, and I have taken
new pictures of some items. The collections section can be found
here.
November 15, 2008
I have added a section devoted to a small collection of war-related
collectibles, with the primary focus on World War II. I have also recently
added more telephones and other antiques. The section on collections can be
found
here.
July 27, 2008
I have added more of my collections of antiques to the website. They can be
found
here.
July 12, 2008
I have created a separate section for my collections. Also, I have obtained
many more old telephones and I have rearranged that section, as it was becoming
unwieldy. The new section on my collection can be found
here.
Here you can find an archive of older news items and of whatever else I might
eventually decide to move there.
ESSAYS, ARTICLES, AND STORIES
We all have our preferred
ways of expressing ourselves; my preferred method is writing. A large and
growing number of articles is presented here. They cover all sorts of subjects,
but the primary emphasis is the story of my transition. I hope these articles
help to explain what it is like to be a transsexual, and I hope they help
others who are going through this process.

What is this weirdness of which I speak? What is it like to be transgendered?
Here, I write about the basic nature of the beast, the good, the bad, and the
wacky. If you are exploring this topic and desire some general information,
this is the place.

Everybody has a unique life story, and here is mine. It starts with my early
childhood and continues to the present, primarily covering the time of
transition from man to woman. This is an ongoing story, and additions will
appear from time to time.

What values drive this particular transsexual? Find out here. Since I do
not unquestioningly accept traditional sources of values, such as religion, it
has been necessary to find my own way through this minefield. Here, I cover
my basic values and philosophical ideas, and give some of my varied (and
occasionally odd) sources. This self-exploration never ends, and it does not
go in a straight line; these essays describe many of the twists and turns
on my endless quest towards a goal that can never be fully realized.

We live in such a fascinatingly messed up world that I cannot resist analyzing
it. Sometimes, the result of my thoughts is a rather dry sociological essay,
and sometimes it is a nasty political rant. It depends on the subject matter
and on my mood at the time. If you like to read social and political
commentary, you will find it here. But be warned! I am an unabashed liberal;
conservatives will likely despise this material.

My gender change has certainly had a profound affect on friends and family. So
far, two of them have written about their thoughts and experiences, and their
essays are included here. How do others react when someone whom they think
they know well busts through the gender divide? Find out here.

I have always spent a great deal of time in the aesthetic realm. Music has
always been a strong interest, and so has writing. Essays on these subjects,
as well as a bit of my creative output, including some god-awful poetry, can
be found here.

Is collecting an interesting hobby or a disease? I often wonder this as I
continue to accumulate old junk that someone else discarded. Check out my
collections, including chemical elements and antique telephones, and see if you
can figure out whether or not I am crazy. Will I be one of those people who is
found dead under a collapsed pile of stuff? Time will tell.

Abandoned and empty places have always attracted me and will likely continue
to do so. In my explorations, I am always elated whenever I find a ghost town,
an abandoned mine, a once-busy highway now empty, a cracked foundation, or an
example of urban blight. Why do I love the neglected ruins of civilization?
I am not entirely certain. If you share this fascination, or if you are just
curious, you can find photos and descriptions here.
