EX TENEBRIS CRESCIT FLOS

Our Screwy World

BACK

As part of my effort to join the larger society, I have begun taking non-credit classes at the University of Utah. Two of the classes I took were related to the social sciences - gender studies and sociology. Naturally, these classes spawned a few articles; these and other articles related to society, subcultures, and politics can be found here. Many of these articles reflect my admittedly liberal political bias, so I am sure I will offend a few conservatives. Of course, they wouldn't exactly like the premise of my website anyway!
  • Assimilation: Should People Conform to Society's Expectations?
  • Influences on the Development of Gender Identity
  • Patriarchy: A Scathing Criticism of Professional Wrestling
  • Aversive Racism and Continuing Disadvantage
  • The New Orleans Mess - A Vitriolic Political Rant
  • Medieval and Renaissance Culture - Why Are So Many People Attracted to the Past?
  • Social Stratification and Transgender Acceptance - Does Social Class Make a Difference? - A Qualitative Analysis
  • March of the Chains - Chain Stores and Their Philosophy
  • Gender Socialization and Transsexuals
  • The Sociological Perspective and the Minority Viewpoint
  • Religion, Society and a Religious Nonconformist
