I am planing on buiding a powder horn and have seen in several 
catalog horns with flask heads installed. At least one of these 
catalogs says that heads have been used for more then 150 yrs on 
horns. Is this correct? How long have flask with the spring type 
heads been around? and most importantly would a horn with say a 1" 
flask head be correct for the 1820 - 1840 Rocky Mountain Fur Trade?

I am really enjoying MtMan-List.
