Little Sahara, Salt Flats at Great Salt Lake Dessert and some frosty lakes in Wasatch Mountains ___________________________________________________________________________________________________
This winter, snow situation is very sad. We had a very little snow so far and December was the dryest month on record in the state of Utah. We had a very cold December, however, and many lakes have been frozen for a while. I took a few pictures of icy lakes and added them to this page.
I had an opportunity to visit Salt Flats on last day of the year 2011. The salt surface was beautiful, but conditions were very windy. It was a little challenging to take photos, for that reason. I always enjoy visiting salty land and potograph it, though. It looks different every time I am there.
My newest photographs are from Little Sahara. I visited the park, located in Central Utah, at the beginning of January of 2012. I was very happy not to see anyone around. It was a beautiful late afternoon hiking in the dunes, chilli and very quiet. I stayed past the sunset and wes very pleased with conditions for photography. I added to the page my favorite photos from that evening.
