Valdosta State University at Kings Bay

The Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base branch of Valdosta State University was created in 1983 to serve the active duty military and their dependents. Civilians are also allowed to participate in classes on a space-available basis. VSU has aproximately 250 students enrolled in programs at Kings Bay, with about 50% coming from the military community.

Valdosta State provides four-year degrees in Early Childhood Education, Technical, Trade and Industrial Education, and General Studies. Masters degrees are offered in Vocational Education and Public Administration.

Courses are delivered in both weekend and weeknight formats. VSU also offers courses over compressed video technology. Because of the availability of compressed video equipment, VSU has the opportunity to deliver a broad base of home campus events to the Kings Bay center.
