At the Spam Festival

You may have been expecting a map, or perhaps an image of the state bird, but I felt this image from the Spam Festival held every year in Austin, MN spoke more to what the state was about than any of the conventional imagery. Yes, the sign is correct. Children (or whomever, for that matter) are solicited to participate in plunging into a huge vat of that gelatinous stuff that constitutes the first layer you encounter in a can of Spam. Several feet down at the bottom of the vat cheap trinkets are available for those brave enough to retrieve them.
