The whole rightwing media machinery exists to be an endless
spigot of almost-reasonable-sounding excuses for their listeners to use to
self-justify their racism.  For them to be able to say to themselves (and
others), "Oh no, I don't hate Obama because he's black, I hate him because
he's _______________".
