We then zoom into a very tiny ; midget on the filament, very near the point where it crosses ; the X-axis. ; ; The most obvious thing about the image is that its extreme ; magnitude is causing it to break down. But in this case, the ; lack of mathematical precision actually makes the image. It ; does so by introducing a unique texture such as certain fine ; artists might strive for. ; ; Since we are beyond the limit of the depth it is possible to ; achieve with this particular fractal, I named the image "The ; Inner Limits". And yes, I *was* thinking of an old TV show, ; one of the interesting kind that is no longer produced. ; ; Curiously, if it were not for the breakdown, the image would ; have rated only a 7. As it is, the unique texture raises the ; rating to an impressive 8. The render time of 7 minutes is ; within reason, and may be eliminated entirely by downloading the ; completed gif image from the FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; I think I'll declare next week a week where I name the FOTD ; fractals after some of the spam subject lines I receive that ; week. This morning I deleted about 25 of them. Most are pure ; gibberish, but some, such as 'why didn't you tell me', are truly ; creative, causing one to ponder 'who didn't I tell something ; to'. But if I do this, I'll pick only the most creative subject ; lines. ; ; Another hot muggy day Tuesday kept the fractal cats asleep most ; of the time. The high temperature of 93F 34C was simply too ; warm for normal holly-thicket activity. Luckily, the duo ; realized this, and were not troubled. Today is starting much ; the same. More of the same is likely from the cats. ; ; For me the work is still slow, but the fractals are as hot as ; ever. Until the next one appears 24 hours from now, take care, ; and the strange thing about fractals is that they can be both ; hot and cool at the same time. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= The_Inner_Limits { ; time=0:07:07.70--SF5 on a P200 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=allinone.frm formulaname=MandelbrotBC2 mathtolerance=0.05/1 center-mag=-1.41545766839771800/+0.000001306788129\ 35/3.214947e+012/1/72.4887718120855027/0.011650530\ 4108602131 params=2.0001/0/1000/0 float=y passes=1 maxiter=1500 inside=0 outside=tdis periodicity=10 colors=000H9uGBqGCnFEjFFgEHcEI_DKXDLTCNQCKMBKIBKFA\ KBAK8CKBDKEEKHGKKHZNIZQJZSL_VM_YN_`P_cQ_dR_eS_eWXb\ _U_bUXdUSeRNeNIgJDjG9iHCiHFiHIiHLhHOhHRjHUlHXmI_oI\ bqIeqIhpIkpInpIqpIshXd`kqUzzRqqPiKN`PLTTJKYHCaFKXE\ RTDZOCeKBcJBbJB`IB_IBYHBXHBVGBUGATGARFAQFAOEANEALD\ AKDAJDFKCJKCOLCSLCXLB`MBeMBiMBeKAbIA_GAXFATDAQBANA\ AK8AG6AD5AA3A71A40A86KBCUFIcIOmLTv`nCZmEXmFVlGTlHS\ kIQkJOjLMjMLiNJiOHhPFhQEhREfSEeTEdTEcUEbUEaVE`VE_W\ EZWB`Z8ba5dd2ef7baB_YFXTKUPORKSPGRXERdDQlCQtBTo9Wj\ 8Ze7a`6cW5fR4iM3lH2oC1q80pI7oRDn`KmiQlrWhnUejTbfRZ\ bQWZOTVNRTLPSJNRHMPGKOEINCGMAFK9DJ7BI5AH49SJ8aY8kl\ 9hm9emAbnA`nBYoBVoBTpCQpCNqDKqDIrEFrECsEAsDBpCBmCB\ kBChBCfACcADa9DZ9DX8EU8ES7EP7EN8GO9IPAKQBMQCORDQSE\ STFUTGWUHYVI_WIaWJ_VJZVKXVKWVKVULTULSULRUMPUMOTMNT\ NLTNKTNJTPSOR`JTiEVr9`oLjtYotXsuWwuVrlcmcliVtQwKPt\ KPqKPnKPkKPiKPfKHItICwI7y } frm:MandelbrotBC2 { ; by several Fractint users e=p1, a=imag(p2)+100 p=real(p2)+PI q=2*PI*floor(p/(2*PI)) r=real(p2)-q Z=C=Pixel: Z=log(Z) IF(imag(Z)>r) Z=Z+flip(2*PI) ENDIF Z=exp(e*(Z+flip(q)))+C |Z|
