But actually this is an illusion. To begin, the image ; is evaporated. Everything in it consists of 'inside' stuff made ; visible by the 'bof61' inside fill. And also, the real(p1) ; parameter of minus-11 means that any minibrots must be of order ; minus-11. ; ; A problem immediately arises -- minibrots of order minus-11 are ; an absurdity. If such things actually existed, they would have ; minus-12 lobes, which is meaningless. Yet there it is in the ; image, a minibrot, which must be one of order minus-11. ; ; Well, maybe according to rules the minibrot is supposed to have ; minus-12 lobes, but I count plus-10 lobes, making the minibrot ; one of order plus-11. I guess nature has made sure that some- ; thing impossible, such as a negative minibrot, does not happen, ; just as it conspires to prevent backward travel in time or the ; simultaneous knowledge of both the exact position and momentum ; of a sub-atomic particle. ; ; I named the image "Minibrot in Doubt" because of this confusion. ; I rated it at a 7-1/4, which includes a 1/4 bonus for my work ; with the limited number of colors that actually appear in the ; image. ; ; The calculation time of 4-2/3 minutes is user-friendly. The ; trip to the FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; to view the completed image there is even more friendly. ; ; Sun in the morning was followed by clouds in the afternoon here ; at Fractal Central, while the temperature bogged down at 48F 9C. ; The fractal cats grew testy when their much-anticipated after- ; noon sun failed to appear. But my day was acceptable. ; ; The next FOTD, in all its glory, (if any), will be posted in 24 ; hours. Until then, take care, and in two days it will all be ; over and we can start hoping we chose correctly. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Minibrot_in_Doubt { ; time=0:04:42.50-SF5 on P4-2000 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=allinone.frm formulaname=DivideBrot5 passes=1 center-mag=-1.2076051079214/+0.01488191850166877/\ 4927746/1/-95/0 params=-11/11 float=y maxiter=2500 inside=bof60 logmap=yes periodicity=10 colors=000zrcvqcrpcmochnccmcZlcUkcRicSgcTecUccVbcW\ acXacYacZ`c_`c`_ca_cbZccZcdYceYcfXcgXchWciWcjVckVc\ lUcmUcmUcmUcmUcmUcmUcmUcmUcmUcmUcmUcmUcmTcmScmRcmQ\ cmOclNckMcjKciJchHcgGcfFceDbdCacBabCZaDW_DTZCQXBMW\ AKU9JS8IQ7HO6GM5FK4FI3FG2FE1FC0FA0F80F60F40F00F00F\ 00F00F00F00F00F00F00F00F00FZzz3G50112F52E42E42D42C\ 42C42B32A31A31931821821721621621510410410310200200\ 10000eP3dO2cO2bN2aN2`M2`M2_L2ZL2YK2KLaJK`II_HHZGGY\ FEXEDWDCVDBVYKv_Pp`TkaYfba`dfWejRfoLgsGhwBjmJlcRmU\ YoKepBloFnnIonLqmOrmRslVukYvk`xjcyjfzUqLSrPRrSQrVP\ rYOs`NscMsgLsjKtmJtpItsHtvGutGurFupFunFulEujEuhEug\ DueDucCuaCu_CuYBuWBuUBuTHvTMwTRwTWxT`xTeyTjyTozTtz\ TpvUmsVjpWglXdiYafZZb_W_`TXaQUaSVbUVcWVcYVd_WdaWec\ WeeWffWfTeXFoN2xD1sC1nB1iA1d91_81V70Q60L50G40B3062\ 012011011000000agQ`fP_eP_eOZdOZcOYcNYbNXaMXaMW`MV_\ LV_LUZLUZKTYKTXJSXJSWJmOF } frm:DivideBrot5 { ; Jim Muth z=0, c=pixel, a=real(p1)-2, b=imag(p1)+0.00000000000000000001: z=sqr(z)/(z^(-a)+b)+c |z| < 1000000 } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint
