As for me, I have no guy, so ; I'm not very worried. The only thing I *am* waiting for is the ; end of the speeches, and while I'm waiting I'll take a little ; diversionary trip into fractal land. ; ; Today's FOTD image is notable for its . . . well it must be ; notable for something. I guess the mixture of zig-zag filaments ; and smooth areas makes it kind of notable. But I have seen and ; posted many similar scenes in the past. ; ; The image rates a relatively modest 6. A careful examination ; revealed little that might make it worth more. The name ; "Ultraviolet Sunrise" was inspired by something in the image ; that I have since forgotten. The calculation time of just under ; 4 minutes is my best estimate of the time the image would take ; to finish on the 2000mhz unit, which still will not start and I ; have yet to check. ; ; The parent fractal is a distorted Mandelbrot set with a gaping ; hole where its East Valley should be. Today's image is located ; in a small but curious bit of chaos at the tip of a zig-zag ; filament extending from a bud on the northwest shore line of the ; main bay. ; ; As always, the image is available for immediate gratification on ; the FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; The Monday temperature of 57F 14C was mild enough here at ; Fractal Central. The persistent clouds spoiled the fractal ; cats' afternoon however. My day was a bit busier than usual, ; but nothing out of control. The next FOTD will appear in 24 ; hours. Until then, take care, and be of stout heart in the ; abstract sense only. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jamth@mindspring.com ; jimmuth@aol.com ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= UltravioletSunrise { ; time=0:03:57.80-SF5 on P4-2000 reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=allinone.frm formulaname=DivideBrot5 passes=1 center-mag=-0.807745426104596/+0.6920600237179639/\ 16070000/1/-90/0 params=1/2 float=y maxiter=2600 inside=0 periodicity=10 colors=000kQXlXZmc`njboqdmrbkrais`hs_fsZdtYbtXauW_\ uUYuTWvSVvRTvQRwPQwOOxNMxMKxKzyJzyIzzHzzGzzFzzEzzD\ zzC8yD9xD9wDAvDBuDBsDCrDDqEDpEEoEFmEFlEGkEHjEHiFIg\ FJfFJeFKdFLcFLbFPcETcEXcE`dDddDhdDleCpeCteCweCwdDv\ cFvbHvbIuaKu`Mt_Nt_PsZQsYSrXUuZEr_Dp`Dm`DjaCgbCecC\ bdB_dBXeBVfASgAPhAMh9Ki9Hj9Ek8Bl89l8OsEbzKpzQnzRmz\ SkzTjzTiyUgxVfvWeuWctXbsY`qZ_pZgXZbbZXgYSmYNrYIxYD\ zYCzUCzQCzNByJBxFBwCAv8Au4Au1Bs3Br4Bq5Bp6Bo7Bn8Bm9\ BlABkBBjCBhDBgEBfFBeGBdHBcICbJCaKC`LC_MCZNCXOCWPCV\ QCURCTSCSTCRUCQVCPWCOXCNYTPfiQozzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz\ wzztzzqzzozzmzzkzzizzgwzetzdqzcnzbkzahz`gzZfzXexUd\ vSctQbsOaqN`oM_mLZlKYjJXhIWfHVeHUcHRaGQ_GQYGPXGOVF\ NTFMRFMQFLOEKMEJKEIJEDVGtgIzkKzmMzkOuhQrfRmcSh`TcZ\ UZWVUTWPRXKQYIPZJP_KO`LNaMNbNMcOMdPLeQKfSKgTJhUIiV\ IjWHkXHl_GlcFnfFoiEomDqmDqmCrrCtvBtzAvzAvz9xz9xzDu\ vHkqLhmPeiTceX`b`Y`dV_hSY } frm:DivideBrot5 { ; Jim Muth z=0, c=pixel, a=real(p1)-2, b=imag(p1)+0.00000000000000000001: z=sqr(z)/(z^(-a)+b)+c |z| < 1000000 } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint
