; Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

; Now and then I like to return to the grandaddy of all fractals, 
; the Mandelbrot set, to show that it still holds some surprising 
; scenes, even at the depths reachable by conventional math.  The 
; name "Seahorse Splendor" came naturally, perhaps a bit too 
; naturally, since I did not check to see if I have used this same 
; name previously.

; The image lies on the eastern side of the northern branch of 
; Seahorse Valley at a depth of 6*(10^10), which is not all that 
; deep.  It is also one of the fastest images of all time.  I 
; found it in under 5 minutes, and in S-F5 video mode, it takes a 
; whopping 2.8 seconds to finish on the P4-2000mhz machine.
; 
; I did put some extra effort into the coloring, but it was worth 
; it.  The image rates an 8, which is quite high for just another 
; scene in Seahorse Valley.

; The skies were cloudy and a few drops of rain fell here at 
; Fractal Central on Monday, but the lack of sun put no damper on 
; the moods of the fractal cats, who seemed quite happy about the 
; pleasantly cool temperature of 75F 24C.  In my department things 
; were under control also.
