; POSSIBLE NEW FORMULA ALERT!  I might not have previously posted 
; the Mandel-V-Esc formula, which allows changing of the bailout 
; radius.  I'm not sure.

; Today's rather weird image involves a couple tricks.  The image 
; itself is located in the East Valley of the large minibrot at 
; -1.75 on the main spike of the Mandelbrot set.
; 
; The first trick is rendering the image with the 'outside' set to 
; 'real'.  This adds the intricate detail to the scene.
; 
; The second trick is coloring the image with a random color 
; palette, though I did do a bit of tweaking to tone down the 
; randomness at least a bit.  This creates the frantic madhouse 
; effect that inspired the name "Madhouse".
; 
; The third and greatest trick is setting the bailout radius to 
; the point just before the image gets cut off and goes blank.  In 
; today's case this point is 3.079.  To see what this does, 
; calculate the image with the real(p3) parameter set to 4, or 
; even better, set it to 100.

; All these tricks add up to a rating of 7.5, not bad, but far 
; from the super 9.5 images of last month.

; The calculation time of one minute is unexpectedly brief.  Part 
; of the briefness is due to the fact that the points are beyond 
; the bailout radius almost as soon as they get started.  The large 
; flat areas also increase speed by making the passes=guessing 
; option more efficient.
