; The parent Mandeloid of today's image is an oversized Mandelbrot 
; set infected in its depths by a Z^5 virus.  Today's image is an 
; almost-Julia set of a bit of left-over debris in the center of 
; the parent's main bay.

; I call the image an 'almost' Julia set because the slice is 
; double-rotated 0.2,0.2 degrees from the true Julia orientation.  
; This slight departure from the true Julia direction preserves 
; the irregular distribution seen in the Mandelbrot aspect of the 
; left-over debris that fills the flattened oval outer shape.

; The image reminds me of nothing quite as much as a view of a 
; rich star field as seen through a wide-field telescope.  The 
; name "Fractal Nebula" points to this similarity.

; Another of those nondescript mixes of sun and clouds prevailed 
; here at Fractal Central today, making life confusing for the 
; fractal cats, who were undecided whether to take their afternoon 
; naps on the window shelf or on the shelf by the heat.  The 
; temperature of 41F +5C was a couple degrees above normal for 
; what is supposed to be the coldest time of the winter.
