It reminds me of nothing as ; much as a wriggling pile of worms like the ones we played with ; when we were kids. (Those were the days when it was all right ; to play dodge ball or climb on a jungle gym, and we had to walk ; all the way over to our friend's house and ring the bell when we ; wanted to talk with him.) The name "Wriggly Squigglies" came to ; mind almost at once. ; ; The parent fractal came about when I combined Z^(-0.5) with ; Z^(-2.5) and added (1/C) on each iteration. This parent is an ; oversized thing shaped like a peanut lying north-south, with ; most of the action in its north half. Today's scene is located ; in a squiggly filament on the western side of the far-more- ; active north half of the parent. (The south half of the parent ; has a valley jutting into it from the bland western shore line. ; At first glance however, this valley appears to hold little of ; interest. But I'll check just the same.) ; ; The rating of a 7-1/2 includes the standard half-point bonus for ; my extra coloring effort. The brief calculation time of only 50 ; seconds is a real bargain, but it is not sold in stores, and is ; available for a limited time only. ;-) ; ; But wait! Find the pre-calculated image on the official FOTD ; web site at: ; ; ; ; Find the image rendered in high definition at: ; ; ; ; Find the entire library of FOTD image at: ; ; ; ; Typical harmless winter conditions prevailed here at Fractal ; Central today. The partly cloudy skies and temperature of 48F ; +8C offended no one but the fractal cats, who were annoyed by ; the sun, which kept coming and going. ; ; The humans spent the day doing routine things such as ; discussing politics and remembering the days before our culture ; began disintegrating. The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours. ; Until then, take care, and is it really necessary to include a ; warning in the cooking instructions of a frozen dinner to let ; the consumer know that the product will be hot when it first ; comes out of the oven? ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jimmuth@earthlink.net ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Wriggly_Squigglies { ; time=0:00:50.00 SF5 at 2000MHZ reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basicer.frm formulaname=MandAutoCritInZ function=recip float=y center-mag=-1.307753083162388/+4.997592221248452/\ 1.913282e+009/1/-130/0 params=1/-0.5/1/-2.5/0/0/0/0 maxiter=1500 inside=0 logmap=68 periodicity=10 colors=00000600600700700B00800900900A00A00B00B00D0\ 0D00F00F00G00H01I02I03K04L05N06TA7P48VI9PAAUN9P5CU\ Q7PBCYS4OICXiCNoKNtUMycMzmzzXzumKz_zqmzzgHpmGzjzom\ znPEnQDmSCmTBlVAlW9kY8kZ7j`7ja6ic5id4hf3hg2gi1gj0g\ k0dg3bc5_`7YX9WUBTQERNGPJIMGKKCMI9OX7Sk5Wz3Zx8UvDQ\ uILsNHqSDpX8na4mf0nd1ob2pa3p_4qY5rX6sV7sT8tS9uQAuP\ AtRBtSBtUBtVBtXBtYBtZBt`BtaCtcCtdCteCtgCthCtjCtkCt\ lCsjDriDrhDqgDpfDpeDocDnbDnaEm`El_ElZEkXEjWEjVEiUE\ hTFhSFgRFfPFfOFeNFdMFdLFcKGbIGbHGaGG`FG`EG_DG_CGY9\ DW79U46T23U34V44V44W54X64X64Y74Y74Z84_94_94`A5`A5a\ B5bC5bC5cD5cD5dE5eF5eF5fG5fG5dH6bI7`J8_K9YL9WMAVMB\ TNCRODQPDOQEMRFLRGJSHHTHGUIEVJCWKBWL9XL7YM6ZN4_O2`\ P1`P3aR5bT7cV8dXAeZCf_DgaFhcHieJjgKkiMljOmlPnnRopT\ prUpsWqqXrpYsn_tm`ukavjbwhdxgezefzdhzbizajz_kzZkzZ\ kzZkzZkzZlzZlzZlzZlzZlzZlzZlzZlzZlzZlzZlzZlzZlzZlz\ ZlzZlzZlzZlzZlzZlzZlzZmzZ } frm:MandAutoCritInZ {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2), f=imag(p2), g=1/f, h=1/d, j=1/(f-b), z=(((-a*b*g*h)^j)+(p4)), k=real(p3)+1, l=imag(p3)+100, c=fn1(pixel): z=k*((a*(z^b))+(d*(z^f)))+c, |z| < l } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint ;
