Something hard to identify ; about it leaves me dis-satisfied. Maybe it's the too-bright ; colors, or the bands, which are too obvious, or maybe it's the ; slow calculation time of 8 minutes, but whatever it is, it holds ; the rating firmly to a 6. ; ; The parent fractal came about when I combined 2 parts of ; Z^(0.05) with 2 parts of Z^(3) and added straight C on each ; iteration. This parent resembles a Mandelbrot set with its west ; half obliterated and a scattering of debris extending to the ; north. Today's scene is located rather deep in the north side ; of what remains of the ruined M-set's East Valley. ; ; The image consists mostly of bluish bands, which are actually ; inside stuff brought to life by the 'fmod' inside option. The ; outside parts can be identified by their reddish and peach-like ; coloring. ; ; The calculation time is slow, and I cannot guarantee that the ; result will always be worth the effort, but the FOTD web sites ; are always there to make life easier. ; ; So join the trendy set and avoid the hassle. Check the finished ; image posted on the official FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; The high-definition version is posted at: ; ; ; ; and all the past images are available at: ; ; ; ; A mix of sun and clouds made a picturesque scene here at Fractal ; Central today, though the temperature of 41F +5C was too chilly ; for a preview of spring. The fractal cats paid little attention ; to the outside weather as they spent the afternoon trying to ; settle some kind of quarrel between themselves. ; ; FL and I, the house humans, spent some time paying bills, and ; the rest of the day doing routine things. The next FOTD will be ; posted in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and cling to the ; classic Newtonian view of the universe or get your foundation ; pulled out from under you by the incomprehensible discoveries of ; present-day physics. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jimmuth@earthlink.net ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= FMOD_Fantasy { ; time=0:08:00.00 SF5 at 2000MHZ reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basicer.frm formulaname=MandAutoCritInZ function=ident float=y center-mag=-1.6288960207/+0.0009464414/78919/1/\ -135/0 params=2/0.05/2/3/0/0/0/0 maxiter=1200 inside=fmod proximity=0.1 periodicity=6 colors=000lLfhKhdJj`IlXHnUGps8SjSQbjP`gVZd_XbeV_jT\ XpSVuUUkWTbYTU_SLaSC_8lNVsHSnCQi6Nd1L`5TV8_PCfKFmE\ It9JlBJeCKYEKRFLJHLCIL5JIDWFLhCTuJYtQbtXgscksjprqu\ rwyrrsnmnjhifdcb_ZZVUVRPSJT4FYnGPgHHaI8VI0PF2NC4MA\ 6L78J4AI2CH7IKCKUOKcUKmAScAScAScAScAScAScAVcAXcAZc\ AacAacKWXQbYWiZap_fv`glfgbkgUpgKugBzhCrhDjhEchFWhJ\ OhKHjOKkPNmOQnTToXWqaZrcasddrbcq_bqWaqOaoL`nI_nK_q\ RgsYoqdlokimmfkociq`gsYfuWiRebOiWLlPIoIFrCCu000FE8\ CD79D7MPHZ`QjlZfhWZeTiVQgLHdJG`KFYJEVIDSHCPHBLGAIF\ 9000k8Xq6gnChlHhjNhhShfPgdNfbKe`IeZGdXDcVBbU9bSKWR\ UPQcJPmCOw6LsCJpHGmMEjRCfW9c`7`ezYjq6Nj7RZ7VDLQEYM\ FkIGxEGTfQLR_EBeBM000000i_afYZcXXaVVZTSWRQUPOROLOM\ JMKHJIEGGCDE9EFAFGAFGAGHAHHAHIAIJAIJAJKAKKBKLBLMBM\ MBMNBNNBNOBOOBPPBPQBQQCRRCRRCSSCSTCTTCUUCUUCVVCVVC\ UWDTXESXFRYFQZGPZHO_HN_IM`JLaJKaKJbLNfKJbL000CET8H\ W4JZ0Ma0Oc3Sd9VdFZhLfpRmw } frm:MandAutoCritInZ {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2), f=imag(p2), g=1/f, h=1/d, j=1/(f-b), z=(((-a*b*g*h)^j)+(p4)), k=real(p3)+1, l=imag(p3)+100, c=fn1(pixel): z=k*((a*(z^b))+(d*(z^f)))+c, |z| < l } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint ;
