But do not be deceived. ; Today's image pictures nothing offensive. It simply shows a ; minibrot in the parent fractal that is produced when Z^3 is ; subtracted from Z^2 and straight C is added. ; ; I'll not try to describe this parent, since it is easy enough to ; reproduce. I'll simply report that today's scene is located in ; a spurious valley on the west side of the westernmost and least ; critical looking of the parent's two main bays. ; ; Most of the terraced effect was created by rendering the scene ; with the outside parts set to 'tdis'. ; ; The rating of a 7 is right on FOTD average. I would actually ; prefer that every image be above average, but unlike Lake ; Wobegon, where every child can be above average, the better the ; fractals become, the higher the average grows. ; ; The image is a rather slow one. Expect around an eight minute ; delay between striking the key and seeing the finished ; image on the screen. ; ; See the finished image without the need to calculate it, on the ; official FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; Find bliss by checking the high-definition version posted at: ; ; ; ; Go totally bonkers by viewing thousands of back FOTD's at: ; ; ; ; Lots of sun, high humidity and a temperature of 91F 33C made ; most of today quite sultry here at Fractal Central. But at 4pm ; a thunder shower moved in, which dropped the temperature to a ; much more pleasant 70F 21C. The fractal cats stretched out ; while it was hot and braved the relatively mild thunder when it ; cooled down. ; ; The humans had an uneventful day. This lack of events is ; growing boring. If we don't get a little more action in the ; human world, I'll have to invent some. The next FOTD will be ; posted in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and where is all ; that change we can believe in? I guess somebody spent it. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jimmuth@earthlink.net ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Skeletal_Remains { ; time=0:08:00.00 SF5 at 2000MHZ reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basicer.frm formulaname=MandAutoCritInZ function=ident passes=1 center-mag=-0.5189207871462929/+0.027232533440068/\ 8.9e+011/1/-122.5/0 params=1/2/-1/3/0/0/0/0 float=y maxiter=2400 inside=0 outside=tdis periodicity=6 colors=000bkGbjGcjGcjGfgLiePlcUn`YqZbtXfvVjtXgrYdq\ Zao`ZnaWlbTjdQieOgfLfhIdiFbjCal9_m6Zn4Wo6Up8RqAPrC\ MrEKsGItHFuJDvLAvN8wP5xR3yT1yU2vS2sR3pQ3mP3jN4gM4e\ L5bK5_I5XH6UG6RF6PE7SI8UL8WP9YSA_VAbZBdaCfdChhDjkD\ lnJj7HkCGlGFmKEnOCoSBpWAq`9rd7sh6tl5up4vt3vx4sv4qt\ 4os4lq4jo4hn5el5ck5ai5Zg5Xf5Vd5Tc6`j7hq8ow8es8Wo8M\ k8Cg83dE6bJ9`OC_TFYZIWcLVhOTmQSnMTnIUnFVoBWo7Xo4Yi\ 7ScAMYCHSFBMI5GK0HO7HSDHWJH_PIbWIfaIjgInmIqsiKFhQE\ gWEgaDfgDfUCeUCeUCaU7TUWLGtOIrRJqUKoWLnZMmaOkdPjfQ\ hiRglSfoUdqVctWawX`yY_nVVcSQUQLKOZBMl2Lz5cy7cy9cyB\ LyDcyGLyIcyKLxMLxOcxRLxTLxVLxXLxZLxXJvWHtVGrUEpTDo\ SBmRAkQ8iP7hQziQzjzzgzzhzzhzzhzzigziezicmiamj_cjYc\ jWUkUUkSUkAfvBcuCatD_tEYsFWrGUrHcqIcpJcpKcoLcnMcnN\ cmOclPclQckcmIbmJbmKamLamM`mN`zO_zP_zQZzRZzSZzTYzU\ YzVXzWXzXWzY7zk7zl7zmBzjEzhHzeKzcNz`QzZTzWWzUZzRaz\ PdzMgzKjzIhzKfzMezNczPbzR } frm:MandAutoCritInZ {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2), f=imag(p2), g=1/f, h=1/d, j=1/(f-b), z=(((-a*b*g*h)^j)+(p4)), k=real(p3)+1, l=imag(p3)+100, c=fn1(pixel): z=k*((a*(z^b))+(d*(z^f)))+c, |z| < l } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint ;
