Those who doubt that the colors are ; 90-percent of the image's worth are invited to try to find ; better colors using only the random Fractint coloring feature. ; ; The parent fractal is a hopeless looking thing that appeared ; when I combined 10.8 negative parts of (1/Z) with 5.4 parts of ; Z^(-3). This parent fractal resembles a space capsule lying on ; its side, filled with a string of flat blobs. A few tiny areas ; of interest lie along this string however, and today's scene ; lies in one of these areas. ; ; The name "Several Holes in One" has little to do with the image ; other than the coincidence that the image is filled with holes. ; ; The bad news is that the image is a slow one, taking almost 6 ; minutes to finish on the average machine. Luckily, the web ; sites can make things easier. ; ; Relief from the chore of setting up and running the parameter ; file is available at the official FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; See the image in high definition at: ; ; ; ; And see all the back images at: ; ; ; ; After a night of rain showers, today turned out rather pleasant ; here at Fractal Central, with a mix of clouds and sun, lower ; humidity, and a high temperautre of 84F 29C. The fractal cats ; paid little attention to the outside weather, spending the day ; instead playing with the five collapsible cat cubes we now have ; arranged on the living room floor. Since there are twelve ; possible face-to-face arrangements of five cubes, with all cubes ; flat on the floor, the cats have just begun to explore the cube ; possibilities. ; ; The humans had an average day. FL is waging a minor war with ; the bugs attacking her garden, but otherwise, things are quiet. ; The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, take ; care, and all scientific technology, regardless of how advanced, ; will ultimately fail. ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jimmuth@earthlink.net ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= SeveralHolesIn_One { ; time=0:05:45.00 SF5 at 2000MHZ reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basicer.frm formulaname=MandAutoCritInZ function=ident float=y center-mag=+2.664544853607538/+0.00876473741882104\ /1.14922e+011/1/95/0 params=-10.8/-1/5.4/-3/0/0/0/0 maxiter=10000 inside=0 logmap=745 periodicity=6 colors=000T00S00R00P00O00N00L00K00J00H00G00F00D00C\ 00B00900800700500400300200400500600700900A00B00C00\ E00G00I00K00M00O00P00R00T00V00X00Z00`00a00c00e00g0\ 0i00k00l00i00f00c00a00Z00W00T00R00O00L00rw6uz3ty8t\ xDtxItwMtvRtvWtu`ttdttitsnyuvtsroqnjpjenfalbXkZSiV\ NhRJfNEdJ9cF4aB0`71Z82X83V83T94R95P95OA6MA7KA7IB8G\ B9EB1B35C79DBDEEHEILFLPGPTGSXHW`IZdIbhJelKisLpoKll\ KihJfeJcaI`ZIYVHVSHSOGPLGMHFJEFGBFDv`PtcMsfKqiIplG\ ooEmrCcoAkx8jq7ik7he6q_6gU5fO5eI4dC4d64a96ZB7WE8TG\ 9RIBOLCMQkTNkZLldJlUboJvrzzUgZ1gq2jiEmbPpV_sOjnNgj\ MdeLbazz`fzTIVOHSKGQNFLQFGTECzf7zE3aH6dK8gNAjPCWy_\ Zo`ae`dWafNadVfbbj`joZrsYzw_rn`jfbcZccRdcJccMbcPac\ S`cV_cYZm`YmcXmfWmiVmlUmoVmkVmhVzeVzbWz_WzXWzULzDm\ zEmzGmzHmzImzJmzvmzbmzKmzMmzOzzQzzSzzUzzWzzYzz_zza\ zzgzzezzczzbzzazz`zz_zzZzzYzzXzz`zzdzzhzzkzzjzzjzz\ jzzjzzjzzmzzkzzizzgzzezzc } frm:MandAutoCritInZ {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2), f=imag(p2), g=1/f, h=1/d, j=1/(f-b), z=(((-a*b*g*h)^j)+(p4)), k=real(p3)+1, l=imag(p3)+100, c=fn1(pixel): z=k*((a*(z^b))+(d*(z^f)))+c, |z| < l } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint ;
