And to the west, ; extending far beyond the merged M-sets, lies an even larger ; ring, which I have not yet explored. Today's image lies on the ; eastern side of the parent, in a valley that is almost but not ; quite an East Valley. ; ; I rated the image at a not-too-bad 7.5, 1/2 point of which is a ; bonus for the coloring. The name "Purple Squigglies" refers to ; the prominent magenta-ish features scattered throughout the ; scene. ; ; A minibrot does lie at the center, but the surrounding pattern ; becomes too chaotic well before the minibrot is reached. The ; actual magnitude of over 3-1/2 million is effectively greater ; that it appears due to the tremendous size of the parent, which ; shifts the decimal point of the calculating math routine, making ; things appear as though they were several orders of magnitude ; deeper than they actually are. ; ; The calculation time of 1-3/4 minutes will pass in two flashes ; and result in an image that inspires awe and wonder. ; ; The flashes may be avoided by checking the finished image at: ; ; ; ; The awe will be increased by viewing the hi-def rendering at: ; ; ; ; Extra wonder may be found at: ; ; ; ; where all the past FOTD images and discussions are posted. ; ; Except for the lack of morning rain, today was a repeat of ; yesterday here at Fractal Central, with a very scenic mix of sun ; and clouds, a brisk breeze, and a high temperature of 75F 24C. ; ; The fractal cats and fractal humans both had a reasonable day, ; the cats with their cat cubes, the humans with work that went ; well. The next FOTD will be posted in the near future. (Read ; 'near' as 'around 24 hours'.) Until next time, take care, and ; why do people have no fear of falling when they are dreaming of ; flying high above the ground with nothing but their weightless ; bodies to hold them aloft? ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jimmuth@earthlink.net ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Purple_Squigglies { ; time=0:01:45.00 SF5 at 2000MHZ reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basicer.frm formulaname=MandAutoCritInZ function=recip float=y center-mag=+23.2363314503291/-0.08077065776474768/\ 3543498/1/12.5/0 params=3.2/-2.3/-2.3/-3.2/0/0/0/0 maxiter=1500 inside=0 logmap=126 periodicity=6 colors=000cPfcSjbWk`Zm`bqZesYiuYlwWowUswUwwSywQywP\ ywPywNzwLzwLzwKzwIzwIzwGzwFwwFswGosIlmIihKecLbZLZU\ LWUKQVKLUJGUIBTG6UF2TD0TD0UC0TC0UC0VE0YG0YI0_J0bK0\ cK0fK0gN0iQ0jU0mZ0mc0ki0jn0os0uy0wz0wy0ws0un0ki0cc\ 0aZ0aU0_Q0_N0ZK0XG0XD0WB0WB0UB0UB0SA0RA0RA0OA0OA0M\ 80M80L80L80J60I60I60G60G60E50E50D50B50B40940940840\ 84062042042032030020020020000000000000000000000000\ 000000000000000000000000000000000200500800B00F00I0\ 0L00P00S00W00Z00b00e00i00l00o00s00w00z0Zz0Yz0Yy0Wy\ 0Ww0Ww0Uu0Uu0Us0Ss0Sq0So0Qo0Qn0Qn0Pl0Pl0Pj0Nj0Ni0N\ i0Lg0Le0Le0Kc0Kc0Kb0Ib0I`0I`0GZ0GZ0GY0FW0FW0FU0DU0\ DS0DS0BQ0BQ0BP0AP0AN0AL08L08K08K06I06I06G05G0DF0DF\ 0BD0BB0KB0KA0KA0K80K80K60K60K50`50`40`20`20`00`00q\ 00q00q00q00q00z00z00z00z00z00zZkzZkzZkzZkzZkzZkz`f\ zZczYazWZzUXzSUzQSzPRzNMzLLzKIzIGzGDzFBzD9zB6zA4zA\ 3zB9zBEzDJzDRzFWzF_zIczLe } frm:MandAutoCritInZ {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2), f=imag(p2), g=1/f, h=1/d, j=1/(f-b), z=(((-a*b*g*h)^j)+(p4)), k=real(p3)+1, l=imag(p3)+100, c=fn1(pixel): z=k*((a*(z^b))+(d*(z^f)))+c, |z| < l } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint ;
