It was originally intended to be the ; FOTD for this past June 20, but I accidentally lost it because ; of a power glitch before I could bestow the honors upon it. (I ; run Fractint from a virtual ramdrive.) But today, much to my ; surprise, I found that I had saved its full parameter file under ; the unlikely name 'todim.par' in my 'real' Fractint directory on ; the 'real' C: disk, so the image, which is a very fast one, was ; not lost after all. The name "The Lost Image" is obviously self- ; explanatory. ; ; The parent fractal is a Mandelbrot set with so much Z^3 ; corruption that the effects are just starting to show on the ; surface. Today's scene is located in the 'main spike' area of ; the large minibrot on the 'main spike' of the parent M-set, ; where the Z^3 corruption is especially strong. ; ; The rating of 7* has a star attached, which indicates that the ; image is not a new one, and also points out the resolution ; breakdown just starting to appear along the band edges. The ; magnitude of over 10^13 is beyond the range of perfect ; resolution and makes the mathtolerance entry necessary. ; ; But despite the extreme magnitude, the image is a very fast one, ; which calculates in a fireball 30 seconds. And even this minor ; calculation hassle may be avoided by checking the web sites. ; ; Check the finished image on the official site at: ; ; ; ; and the high-definition version plus interesting variations at: ; ; ; ; and don't forget the original, now classic web site at: ; ; ; ; Typical July 4th weather prevailed here at Fractal Central ; today, with all the expected ingredients. We had hot sun, the ; usual high humidity, and a temperature of 91F 33C. There were ; even rumors of the typical rain storm that arrives at fireworks ; time. The fractal cats were skittish most of the day due to the ; sporadic firecrackers going off in the neighborhood. When ; darkness arrived and the fireworks increased, they took to their ; security places. Meanwhile, the humans did little out of the ; ordinary. ; ; The next FOTD will be posted within a reasonable time. Until ; whenever, take care, and what difference will the discovery of ; the Higgs particle make in the life of the average person who is ; not a physicist? ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jimmuth@earthlink.net ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= The_Lost_Image { ; time=0:00:30.00 SF5 at 2000MHZ reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basicer.frm formulaname=JulibrotMulti2 function=recip float=y center-mag=-1.750947207550318/0/1.037696e+013/1/\ -30/0 params=3/16/0/0/0/0/0/0/0/0 maxiter=1500 inside=0 periodicity=6 mathtolerance=0.05/1 colors=000_H7WF6TE6PC5LA4I83E73A52731310w4Fm3Cc2AU\ 27K15A02zb5oW4eQ3VJ2LD1A60ZWDVSBROANL8JH7FE5BA4772\ 3319EK7CH6AE58B368245122uZKaNDJB6ZLuQFfHAT85EnI7iG\ 6eF5aD5YC4TA4P93L72H62C41831410cuMUfGKTBAE5QBBJ88D\ 55622I3nG2iF2eD2aC2YA1T91P71L61H40C308104tO2oM1kK1\ fI1bG1ZE1UC1QB0L90H7000000040000000000000000000000\ 0000cCzUTmJZWH_TGXREUPDRMCPKAMI9JG8GD6DB5B94862541\ 22neAf_8_U7TO5LI4EC2761v5Fn4Dg3B_39T27M15E13701CDh\ VafQW_MRUHLODGI8AC456u_2oW1iS1cP1YL1TI1NE0HA0B70Zf\ F`hDbgIdgNfgSggXig`kfelfjnfopftqfxmgriglehgahaYhXU\ iRQiMMiGIjBEj5Bj0Fn2Ir3Lv5Oy6Lw9JuCHsFEqICoLAmO8kQ\ AlSBmTDnVEoWFpXGSeEP`6HDCMXBJT9GP8EL6BG48C358124RG\ 3D81S4TP3QN3OL3LI2JG2GE2EB1C919717404202xvmrphlkcg\ e_a`VXWRRQMMLIGGDBA9554RooPkkNggLccJ``HXXFTTDQQBMM\ 9II7EE5BB3771331Wp0Pe0JV0CL06ANNWFFL77AoLWfHQYELQA\ GH7A835uSCqQBmOAjM9fL9bJ8 } frm:JulibrotMulti2 {; draws all slices of Julibrot pix=pixel, u=real(pix), v=imag(pix), a=pi*real(p2*0.0055555555555556), b=pi*imag(p2*0.0055555555555556), g=pi*real(p3*0.0055555555555556), d=pi*imag(p3*0.0055555555555556), ca=cos(a), cb=cos(b), sb=sin(b), cg=cos(g), sg=sin(g), cd=cos(d), sd=sin(d), p=u*cg*cd-v*(ca*sb*sg*cd+ca*cb*sd), q=u*cg*sd+v*(ca*cb*cd-ca*sb*sg*sd), r=u*sg+v*ca*sb*cg, s=v*sin(a), aa=-(real(p1)-2), bb=imag(p1), c=p+flip(q)+p4, z=r+flip(s)+p5: z=(bb)*(z*z*fn1(z^(aa)+bb))+c |z|< 6 } ; END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ; ; ; ; _______________________________________________ ; Fractint mailing list ; Fractint@mailman.xmission.com ; http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fractint ;
