This parent fractal is ; much like the 'normal' one, but the two branches of the main ; spike are spread a bit wider, and the large minibrot is broken ; into two totally separate and unusually distorted ones. Today's ; scene is located in an un-named valley of the northern minibrot. ; ; The point at a mere 0.00941066196782 levels down the hyperladder ; might appear unusually fussy, but it was carefully chosen. This ; is the point where the parent fractal has perfect X-axis ; symmetry. The symmetry probably has no special significance, ; but being of an artistic nature, I prefer the symmetry. ; ; Surprisingly, no open rectangles lie in this area, (at least, I ; have not yet found any), but there are geometric open holes ; aplenty. Today's little minibrot lies in the middle of a field ; of these holes. ; ; The rating of an 8 indicates an above-average image that might ; have been better if I had put a little more time into the ; coloring. The name "Broken Rectangles" refers to the twisted ; quadrilaterals that might have once been rectangles. The ; calculation time of 2-3/4 minutes is about average, and should ; cause little restlessness. ; ; Check the finished image at the official FOTD web site at: ; ; ; ; with a high-definition rendering at: ; ; ; ; The back FOTD's are available at: ; ; ; ; A mix of sun and clouds, and a temperature of 82F 28C made today ; quite pleasant here at Fractal Central. The fractal cats were ; puzzled about being locked out of their favorite spare room, ; where a new window was being installed. The next FOTD will be ; posted in due time. Until whenever, take care, and do we really ; believe that something as complicated as the DNA molecule could ; have evolved spontaneously and totally by accident in 13-billion ; years? . . . Or do we really believe that some super being ; intentionally designed it in some multiverse laboratory? ; ; ; Jim Muth ; jimmuth@earthlink.net ; ; ; START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Broken_Rectangles { ; time=0:02:45.00 SF5 at 2000MHZ reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=basicer.frm formulaname=MandelbrotBC3 function=ident center-mag=-1.750919845393386/+0.0200660824764789/\ 1.419367e+008/1/-107.5/0 params=2.003/0/-0.0094106\ 6196782/0 float=y maxiter=2500 inside=0 logmap=291 periodicity=6 colors=000YdYXbXU_VSXTQSRNNPLJNJELB9J04Hi2Bd1C_1DV\ 1EQ0EL0FG0Gp5jk4fg4cc3`_3YW2VS2SO1PK1MG0JSyIQsHPmH\ NhHMbHKXHJSGHMGGGGEBGD5GVFuRClN9dJ6WF3OgGJbDIYBIU9\ HP6HL4GG2GoM52aj7JV6Dg7Ce7Bc8Aa89_98Y97W96UA5SA4QB\ 3OB2MC1KC0IVzRSqPPhNM_MKRKHIJE9HF_IESHDLHDEGC7zrgz\ XMzmjvfbn`VgVN`OFUI7NiKRkHDgFEdDEaCEYAFV9F3Ob3VY3a\ T3gO8ePCcQGbRL`RP_STYTXXTaVUeTViSWnQWrPXvNYzMYbUQG\ `IIaMKaQLaTNaXOa_SZkT_hT_eT_bT__U`XU`UU`SU`PU`MVaJ\ VaGVaDVnAVe8b`A__CW_ERZFQZHPYJOXLNXMMWOLWQKVSJUTIU\ VHTXGTYIVXKXWMZWO_VQaURcUTeTVfSXhSZjR`lQamQXcWTU`Q\ SbORdMPeKOgIMiGLjFEjzo6XRP43g85dC6bGE_G0Il9WRATVBR\ ZCPbDMeEKiFImGFqHDtIBoGCkECE2IgDDcBD_9EW8ES6FO4FK3\ GG1GESrDEZAzqKtmUnjchfmccuY_zSXzMTzHUzBUz5UzbUzZUz\ WUzTUzQUzMUzJUzGUzDUz9Uz6Uz3UzcUzYczSczUczUczUczUc\ zcczcczczzczzczzmzzmzzmzzmzzmzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz\ zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz } frm:MandelbrotBC3 { ; by several Fractint users e=p1, a=imag(p2)+100 p=real(p2)+PI q=2*PI*fn1(p/(2*PI)) r=real(p2)+PI-q Z=C=Pixel: Z=log(Z) IF(imag(Z)>r) Z=Z+flip(2*PI) ENDIF Z=exp(e*(Z+flip(q)))+C |Z|
