Winter Wonderland

The sheer beauty of the mountains peaked in white are a wonderful view. Though we must admit, the thought of visiting those cold summits is not really of any appeal to us.

In early 1998, Charlotte visited some elk near Logan, Utah. One of them took notice as she prepared to snap this photo.

Elk at play Soon these and many other animals, (including humans?) will begin migrating for expected springtime opportunities. Isn't it amazing how so many animals find sufficient food and warmth to last the winters, in so many different ways?

Finally, the days have begun to grow longer, though it may not feel so quite yet. We enjoy the slowing-down typical of January. The opportunity to relax a little, maybe take some short trips to visit family. Good things to follow the bustling holiday season with.

She's Here

At about 11:30 am on Saturday, November 18, 2006, Charlotte's water broke, so we went in to the hospital to have out baby girl (we've known for several months that it was a girl). At around 12:40 am, Sunday, the decision was made that the baby needed to come out by Cesarean Section (major surgery). She was born at 1:16 am on Sunday, November 19, 2006, wighing in at 6 lbs. 10.3 oz.(see the photos) and measuring 19.5 inches in length. Both mother an baby are well.

Charlotte stayed in the hospital for two days to recover from the surgery. Both mother and daughter came home in the afternoon of Tuesday, November 21, 2006.

Update 2006/11/21

Last night, Charlotte & I settled on the name for our first baby. Her name is Nadia Marie Peterson. She is in excellent health.

Charlotte has been recovering very well. The staples were taken out this morning and both mother and child will be coming home this afternoon.

This photo of us, was taken by Lamont's maternal Grandmother, Merle Boles, at her orchard in Weiser, Idaho. It is one from about thirty taken that day at Grandma & Grandpa's.
