Who am I?

This is me.

I'm a programmer by trade, a dyed-in-the-wool software guy. I think the best use of electronics and computers is for fun. I was in the video game business for seven years, which must mean I broke a mirror at some point. These days I'm a graduate student and work in a Natural Language Processing research group.

I've wanted to do stuff with electronics since I was a pup. I finally got into it when microcontroller programming became a widespread hobby in the mid-1990s. Hardware tinkering is fun because you end up with a physical object to show for it, unlike with software.

I'm no hardware expert, but I've picked up a few tricks. I want my site to be fun and informative. Please email and let me know what you think of it!
