Exploration
Inside the TARDIS, Julie is busily trying to adapt to her new surroundings. However, while the Doctor is busily searching for his new look, she takes a wrong turn and gets lost deep within the Time/Space vessel. What she finds both interests and confuses her, but her primary goal is to just get back to familiar territory, a goal which continues to elude her...
From Episode One:
With a tired sigh, he glanced about him, not sure of what to look at. As he did, he became aware that his tussle had caused a shift in the pile's structure and part of the coat rack that had previously been obscured was now visible. One of those buried bits of clothing caught his eye and he instantly knew it was what he was looking for, the symbol he could base the rest of his attire around. It visualized the gentle scruffiness and casualness he wished to project. It also held a feel of danger, of adventure, of bravery and skill.
It was a knee length, gently rumpled, tan coloured trenchcoat.
Had Julie been with him, she would no doubt have laughed at the expression of awe he was giving this trenchcoat. Carefully, he removed it from the coat hook and held it before him. Suddenly, he shrugged off the flannel/sweatshirt combination he was wearing, allowing it to drop on the floor. Then, he donned the trenchcoat.
Power and strength seemed to ooze from the coat into his body. Instantly he was comfortable in his new garment. The logic of his choice also began to assail him; the thickness of the coat's material would act as a low level armour, deflecting some of the smaller things that life seemed to throw his way more than other people. It was highly comfortable and slightly large on him, more facts that he enjoyed. He took in his image in the mirror. It caused him to smile. "Sam Spade, eat your heart out."
The matter was settled, the trenchcoat stayed.
Suddenly, ideas for the rest of his attire flooded his mind, as if the discovery of the trenchcoat was the key to unlocking the whole matter. Bursting with energy, he began tearing the room apart, searching for the style in his mind.
