The tyranist's thoughts
I've never been frightened by dolls. Clowns, yes. Dolls, never. So for the Child's Play movies to be of any worth to me
they have to be doing some pretty inventive things. I'd say that so far, only Bride of Chucky
is really worth my effort.
So little Andy has grown up enough that they can send him to military school, Chucky manages to get himself ressurected, and
wouldn't you know it the inexplicable maiming starts again.
A couple years before he became Jimmy Olsen, Justin Whalin took his turn as Andy and no matter how much you may like him,
it was forgettable. Although, I have to admit that his acting wasn't to fault (despite the poor quality of it). No, the
real problem laid in the fact that they were desperate to come up with one more sequel. This is really just a slasher that
happens to have Chucky as the villain. None of the voodoo that made the first one watchable or the insane charm that makes
the fourth entry great, just the need for more money.
Well, I won't say that you shouldn't see this because I myself am (obviously) a completist. Still, it really wasn't good
at all and to make matters worse the tape I rented had a big gooey thing at the end that rendered my VCR useless for a
couple days. You probably won't see the same result though.
