The movie that this reminds me of the most is Lawnmower Man except that it is far less intelligent. This is what would have happened if they had gone for the pure horror aspect. And they didn't actually know anything about computers and electronics. In spite of the poor plot and lack of ingenuity, I rather enjoyed this movie in just the good old fashioned butt-kicking horror sense. Karen Allen does a good job as the technologically clueless mother and the rest of the cast fills in nicely. If you like somewhat atypical slasher movies and can suspend your disbelief for and hour and a half then this is probably going to be enjoyable to you. Otherwise, you will hate yourself and me for ever having seen it.
