Rish Outfield's reviews
For those of you who found Child's Play too scary, we bring you . . . LIVING PUPPETS! It's a strange, silly world we live in where an idea as dumb as Puppet Master can spawn half a dozen sequels (and counting). But I see some of its appeal--the dolls are cute and individualized (ready-made for action figures), they're a fun cross between good and evil, there's nudity, and at least William Hickey is in it. All in all, it's a guilty pleasure, at best.
Best Scare: The leech doll. Yuck!
I'd Recommend It To: Well, that depends. It ain't my cup of tea, but it might be yours.

The tyranist's thoughts
Knowing that this is the first in a long line of films, I think it had better be very good. At least good enough to justify a Puppet Master 43: Pinhead's Live-in Love Slave. The truth is that it just wasn't that good. There were no scares and the little puppets weren't that frightening. The coolest puppet(it was oriental in appearance) only had a very short part in the first ten minutes of the movie. A relatively tame movie that tried really hard to make up for its lack of scares with gore. Hmmm . . . sounds familiar.
