Rish Outfield's reviews
Less fun than the second film, this was very similar to it (maybe too much so). The first death was very cool (a mannequin replaced the ‘actor' at the last second, and its head even came off!), if poorly done. Pamela Springsteen returned and wasn't too bad. It made me wonder, though: why, if Angela hates so much about the campers, does she go out of her way to camp with them again? Then it hit me--she's insane! This movie had maybe one likable character (but not more than two), and a couple of interesting subplots, the father of a guy Angela killed in Part Two, for example, but they didn't go as far as they could've/should've. It had a rap scene that was managed to be surprisingly racist, not scary, and totally stupid. This film continues the tradition of co-starring the sister of somebody famous, Tracy Griffith this time. What was up with the ending? I'm not complaining about the sequel setup--I knew they were aiming for the franchise to continue, but Griffith's last line made less sense than a French-dubbed "Twin Peaks" episode.
Best Scare: When Angela nailed the black guy. But not in the way that you think.
I'd Recommend It To: Folks who dug the second film A LOT.

The tyranist's thoughts
For what started out as a bad, bad trilogy of movies (i.e. Sleepaway Camp sucked), this one wasn't all bad. I would say that it definitely isn't as good as the second installment but it is much better than the first. With this one they seemed to try to push the happy camper idea a little too far. We had seen Angela gleefully kill all of the kids in 2, what could she do that was new in 3? Not much. At least, they got Pamela Springsteen to return.
